Not at all... well it took a while, but unless my memory is faulty in FF8 it only takes 1000 exp to go up a lvl and it stays like that throughout the game.... e.g. it takes 1000exp to go from 1 to 2, and it also takes 1000exp to go from 99 to 100...... The thing is that your stats mainly increase because of what you have junctioned so you need to continually draw from enemies to keep up with their skills... because the spells you can draw get better.... but so do the enemies you fight..... e.g. Squall on lvl 10 (no junctions but allowed to summon gf's) vs. T rexaur on lvl 10 = Squall win...
... but with the same circumstances only both of them lvl 100..... Squall doesnt stand a chance because even renzokuken would only do like 200 damage each hit.....

... oh and the Final Fantasy that had the best Chocobo theme music was ff9. If I start thinking about it it just won't get out of my head... waaaayyyyyyy too catchy.

Get ready to get your ass kicked by many bosses.

How can a game that involves no skill and little to no strategy be hard? I mean, as long as you level up, you're fine. Oh, wait, except levelling up is TEDIOUS AND BORING. And the rest of the game utilises the same system as levelling up.

The bosses level up as you do and it takes strategy to kill a lot of the bosses. Take emereld/ruby weapon for instance, because you must remember the enemies that are immune to certain things. And what about enemies like Iron Giants who have very high defence, there is a lot of strategy involved, but it is not the battle system that makes the game good, it's the story, the mini-games, sidequests, and GAMEPLAY (I made a mistake on gameplay before and Impossible picked up on it, aha not this time).
oh yeah by the way. Doovy & Co. are not gone. After all... I am Doovy and Forunner is still here.

If I recall, in FF8. There was a spot where you fought two Iron Giants... resulting in an instant level up. Also the fact you could use GFs infinatly at no cost made the game just pointless except for like Omega Weapon.

I knew someone where they had Squall, Zell and Irvine on really high level and then everyone else was level 13 - 20. This was on disc 3.

Accually using GFs too much makes your SeeD level go down. Just like running away too much, and going to the wrong towns. Its a fine balence, use them too much and you lose money, not enough and they dont like you and die off

That is a bad idea... there one point where your party split into two and then you get.....Zell, Questis, and it think you chose. But still the point is Quistis sucks Selphie is GOD! She has the best limit ever The End. Instant Death, for everything. INCLUDING BOSSES!

If I had to sort the 3 hardest bosses in FF8 it would go:

1st. Omega weapon
2nd. Ultimecia
3rd. Ultima Weapon

I havn't had a chance to fight Omega because I was too lazy to find him at first and now my disks are all broken (I'll destroy you CJ!!!)...
... but Ultimecia and Ultima are pushovers... It took me 4 turns to kill Ultima... first Irvine uses Aura on Squall, Zell uses Aura on Irvine, Squall uses limit break: Renzokuken (perfect) then Lionheart, Irvine uses limit break: AP shot..... dead Ultima.

Thing is you don't actually NEED money as there isn't anything apart from weapons that you can buy. Otherwise you just refine and make stuff. Money was absolutely pointless in FF8.

But isnt it in all rpgs, You always end up with enough money to buy 99 of everything and still have enough to do it again... Take golden sun......i had sooo much money, and nothing to spend it on. But thats one thing that awsome about The Way no money. But ya anything you need in FF8 you can find or mug from enimies. Or just use magic...

Not really, you still need to buy items and getting Echo screens is essential before you go into the Ragnarok as the Propagators silence you...which sucks.

Kill them before they get the chance? Silence is like the first thing they do.
