Good action/platformer games?

Been playing Castlevania Aria of Sorrow on the GBA (ROM of course, I can't afford shit like this), and I'm wondering if anybody has any reccomendations for similar games. Don't say megaman, I've already played those years ago.
Just something like this. I don't usually play the genre, so help is appreciated.

I just discovered Aria of Sorrow too. Damn, that's an awesome game. I'll be looking to pick up Megaman Zero 3 soon.

Whoever voted "No reason" PHAILS AT JOKE POLLS. Oh, uh, it's pretty much Castlevania and Metroid that get compared, although I guess MM could go in there as well. If you do, that's about 50 games anyway, so you should be fine.
Go find a ROM of Super Metroid if you've never played it, it's a pretty good starting point (since Metroid was mediocre, IMO, and Metroid II was just above average). The story's nothing strong between them anyway.

Platformers you say, well, the one's i'd suggest are...
Gunstar Heroes (Genisis)
Metal Slug Series (NeoGeo, the other ports' ROM size is WAY to big!)
Megaman 2 (NES)
and Definately Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission!

JAK AND DAXTER (and the rest of this series which is called "jak2" and "jak3")
Mario sunshine is pretty good too...
ratchet and clank (have only played the demo but liked it a lot)
BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL(not really a platformer but a great game anyhow :p)
