The "weapon," which looks like nothing but a cylinder

yeah i laughed when he said "are you sure it's a weapon?" and the other guy replied "positive"
if this really was a military video it is extremly unlikly that they would make such an assumption from a cylinder that could be easily be mistaken for a peice of guttering some guy chucked on the ground.
also that zoom effect....hmmmm

Since the quality is so crude, it's hard to say how it was really made. Most likely, they spliced together and superimposed some actual footage in a digital eidtor, then ran it through a really wonky filter to obscure the boundaries between different shots and give it the whole night-vision look.
