Oh it's occured plenty of times on this board Impossible, but anytime someone does make an effort to support opinions you dismiss it with your "hollow statements", and if you disagree with their opinions and lack of evidence to support, why not give your own damn evidence instead of simply dismissing people with your own useless commentary.

However, in light of the topic there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Mac. It's still a very high quality product and I find it superior to most other desktops in terms of office-based work. It may not have as broad a spectrum on other things (ie:gaming), but it's definately still a good machine.

However, due to the fact Linux has a preset internal shell account already present, along with a shitload of script libraries (ie: PERL), I find it much more handy than any of the other OS available.

Since Impossible wants a reason, here is why I hate Macs: Every single mac I have ever used I have hated. I hate Linux too. All the dork ass freaks from school use Linux and constantly praise how amazing it is. Therefore I hate it. And Impossible, some people just don't like stuff. You don't always need to explain yourself. Pull that stick out of your ass dude.

You realise this is crap, right? As cool as it is to try and pwn someone for the hell of it because of something completely irrelevant in a topic with nothing to do with your post, it's kinda annoying.
The one time I can think of was some of Excell's comments about Australia, and that was because they were absolute shit. I'd find an example, but I can't be fucked.

Actually, I do recall him saying we were all descended from convicts, which, besides being a lie, applies equally to Americans as well (one of the main reasons the British needed Australia was because America seperated from them and wouldn't take any more convicts). But it proved how uninformed and ignorant Excell was, since there are millions of people from other countries (which I am descended from), and there were plenty of free settlers even in Australia's early days.
And suddenly I'm reminded of being extremely pissed off at Porter for being a dumbass, when we last discussed a similar topic on IRC.

And only Georgia had convicts. The Brits stopped sending convicts(tax evaders) there long before we broke away. Australia had many MANY convicts sent there. Once again Impossible, you pull shit out of your ass. Australia was used as a gigantic British prison.

I think it's quite funny that Excell can accuse me of pulling shit out of my ass after some of his more opinionated posts... Including that one, which involved Excell making assumptions and not actually having a clue about the history of Australia.

And guess what? I'm not a convict, and nobody I know is one, either. And most of the people I know weren't descended from any convicts, either. But it's a fact that both America and Australia were used for convicts, and it was in fact the convicts (particularly after becoming free again) who colonised the countries, although they also had free settlers coming (not something the Guided would approve of ). It's also a fact that Britain would have continued to send convicts to America if they could have.

While there is evidence pointing to a potential "crime" gene, this is merely more based upon a innate agression, not devious nature. So claiming Australia was built by a colony of "convicts" is irrelevant because it has absolutely nothing to do with the frame of mind of our dear present day Australians. And also in this light, for both America AND Australia it is important to note that most major crimes were met with swift, and sometimes unusual capital punishment, so in that regard, Australia and the American colonies did NOT contain a vast ammount of murderers. For the most part, America had primarily debtors (can you say Georgia), and Australia had the same along with other minor crimes. Yes, it was a penal colony, but just because you're a convict it does not dictate you as a horrible person. Don't blow it out of proportion and stereotype Australians as descendants of vicious brutal monsters, because most of the "monsters" in that day were killed by means of the gallow's pole or in rare instances beheading. All of these so called "convicts" were nothing but petty theives. And if you want to escalate this further you could claim that ALL colonial American's were criminals in mother Britain's eyes, seeing as suceeding from your sovereign nation is considered treason. And this sprouts not from emotional or genetic disposition, but rather, economical deprivation. This is unavoidable, all societies had their fare share of high poverty rates at that time, so thieves and crooks were to be expected. Not to mention most of Australia's current population descends from outside it's own soil, just as America's does. To state that the majority of America's population are related to eighteenth century colonists is foolish and completely ignorant.

On another note, what were you thinking Impossible? Coming onto a forum of gamers and vouching for a Macintosh? Were you force fed paint chips as a child? This is an undebateable subject, Windows holds dominance over Macintosh for the sole fact that they monopolize the PC gaming industry. Hypotheticly, you've just walked into an American Airlines plane with a gun. Don't even begin to question why the general populous of this board dislikes Macintosh when stood up against Micro$oft's Windows. Hell, I'm not bashing the OS, it's a great userfriendly system that has had years to be refined into what it is today, but it lacks convenience.

As far as you linux bashers are concerned, I personally have my OS partitioned into both XP and Linux. Why I don't personally use Linux nearly as much as I use XP, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt: It reigns as perhaps the most flexable (and open source mind you) operating system out there. It's not as userfriendly, and it takes some time to becoming profecient with it. XP is simply more convenient to my gaming tastes, and while Mac has it's fare share of games, any arguement saying it surpasses or even comes near that of Windows deserves a quick thrust of a shovel to the face. I suppose my favortism towards Linux over Macintosh is due to the fact that a few years back, me being simply eight years of age only had an old DOS machine at my disposal (despite the fact people were using Windows 95 for almost a years). Memories of the Ultima series brings back nostalgic memories.
