Because Porter makes those decisions. And the ranks are meaningless.

well, we need more folks in #theway, that's where it means something. Of course I run the channel and don't follow ranks :D I just op the amount of people that I think we need for how many regulars we have.

So far, we have 2 ops, as compared to the 7 usual people in the channel. If we increase that number to I'd say 10 or 12, perhaps I could think about promoting another person.

So basically we need to mount a crusade to promote the game and hopefully 30% of the converters will join in on mirc?

There are some meaning to them. All Lords are Half-ops but the thing is you only get to be ranked up to lord when you get half-ops.
