Saddest Death?

Postby ShatteredEyes » Thu Sep 09, 2004 3:27 pm

Well, there's been many, many, many, many deaths in The Way. Which one did you find the saddest? I personally thought Lexus or Lyrra, they were both so kind (maybe not Lexus if what Sorya said was true) and didn't deserve the ends they got.

Lyrra. I hated Lexus as a character. I really did.

Lyrra was screwed over by everyone in everyway possible.

Then again, Slade's death was actually dramatic.

I'll go with Slade. I kind of knew that once he got his shit ruined by Rhue, he was going to die or kill himself. After that point, he was a useless character, and he was partially insane. Letting him go isn't right, ya gotta kill him.

I think Lilah's death was the worst one. Most of the other character somehow caused their own death (Lyrra DID attack Rhue after all).

Probably Lexus... Lyrra's death was too fast, and I was too busy thinking about how unfair it was, because Rhue only killed Lyrra's father to end his suffering.

Lexus. Lyrra's death went to fast (like everybody is saying). Plus, i think Lexus's death had a more sad atmosphere. Lyrra's was more like sudden and shocking. Like Rhue has become evilish all of a sudden.

Slade had all the psychotic flashbacks and whiny sit-on-a-cliff-and-speak-in-adjectives thing. Plus he didn't die crying. He died killing people.

It's all about how many guys go down with you.

man, lexus's death was the best setup. 2 people running down two halls, SHIT, Lun is a genious for that. I never felt so anxious to see what happens.

It's embarrassing  but Lyrra's actually brought tears to my eyes because she had been so innocent, and Scatha had dripped poison thoughts into her ear and broken her - Rhue just did the final deed. It was her emotional decay into madness that was probably the most dramatic aspect of all, even if I didn't like her at first cause she was kind of airheaded, and her death silenced all the innocence that had been in the game.

Lexus' was a great setup, it's true, but I never really knew why Rhue liked her much in the first place. I didn't. And Slade was too much of a killer...

The saddest thing about Lyrra's death is that we never got to see a love scene with her and Alan. I had been looking forward to that for several episodes. I don't know if that counts as a sad death, but it was certainly disappointing. I suppose there's still a chance they'll get together in that Estrana afterlife.

It's tied for me at Lexus and Slade. Lexus was a great character no matter how fucked up her fighting style was, and Slade was just badass, and I hated to see him die.
