Okay... Damn fwacho and his evil hinting.
I'm assuming that Forerunners are a myth in the context that the whole story about a bunch of people who build bridges and dig wells and make Way posts is total bullshit. But Eyashu must have been a Forerunner in that he went to the End of the Way, or close to it. That's why Tetzel killed him, so it all ties in.
But what is the "truth" about the End of the Way? Is it that there's no such thing, and that even the Rolling Mists don't exist? That's a simple explanation - if wanderers knew the truth then they would most likely decide to settle down for the rest of their life, or it might cause them to disbelieve the Purpose - both of which would be bad for the Guided, and so Tetzel had to kill Eyashu to stop people from finding out. Of course, there are other ways that the "truth" could hurt Tetzel...
If we assume Rhue and Gaius are currently at the End of the Way, is it related to Landorin? Was Gaius' "Interesting" comment referring to Rhue recognizing Landorin? He could have been thinking of what REALLY happened there, if that's what he mentioned in Lide. Rhue said that it was where he lost Serena, and that might have explained something to Gaius about what happened to Rhue, if he didn't know. Or did he say that for a different reason? The End of the Way could appear different to other people, although that seems less likely right now.
Whichever theory we want to go with, it would be a good idea to work out how Dirk is involved. He's the "closest thing to a forerunner" since Eyashu was killed. What does that mean? Does he know the truth as well, or perhaps only part of it? Then why is he chasing Tetzel? How is Scatha involved at all (since she's also goning after Tetzel)? I think it might answer some questions if we knew where she fit in.
Dirk definitely has been around a lot (and apparently went back or something, since he'd already been to Laodicea), so it's not really too farfetched to believe he's been as far as Eyashu has - or he knew Eyashu, anyway. Tetzel isn't killing Dirk, though, so Tetzel might not know about him.
Which leads us back to Dirk's motives - wouldn't Eyashu want to kill him? It could be that Dirk wants to... avenge Eyashu's death? Or Dirk wants to find out exactly what Eyashu knew (which he might only know part of right now).
Did I ask enough questions for you, fwacho? Bastard. Hopefully some other people can work out parts of this and we might get some idea of what's happening...
