Lyrra's death was sad too, but it went too fast, as the other members are saying.
Lilah's death wasn't sad in my opinion, because we didn't saw nothing.

Just cause you don't see something doesn't mean it can't be sad. I mean if you heard a close one to you died, it's not like "oh well I didn't see it, not sad anymore." Lilah's death was sad because she was basically killed because she was ugly, and because the Guided were prejudicist (sp?). She was an innocent old woman who ended up with a horrible fate.

Lilah = Disturbing and anger-inducing death
Lyrra = Sad
Lexus = Indifference

ACtually, i found that Lexus's death was more...well, put it this way.

Lilah = Disturbing
Lyrra = WTF?
Lexus = OMG!

At least that was how I felt when I first played it. I feel for Lexus mainly how much Rhue regretted it, but he (other than saying "Burn me") didn't regret Lyrra's death as much. It's kinda distrubing how....insensitive to death Rhue has become.

Lexus's always death always got to me most. Lilah's death was pretty sad, but since you could see it coming it wasn't that surprising. Lastly, Lyrra's seath was just random and at a point were i was more concerned about were Scatha Dirk and Gaius had gone so I wasn't really thinking about it too much. (On the other hand, if you ever get a friend to play The Way, be there for Lyrra's death. The look on their face when it happens is priceless.

Those were about my reactions as well. Lexus' death might have been more effective if not for the long run-up to it. (To me, it was dead obvious that Rhue was going to kill her; the thought that he might kill the Aristotzi chasing her instead never crossed my mind. I would really have been shocked had I been playing the version where you could avoid killing Lexus.) By the time Rhue stabbed her, I was was dying for it to be over already. That, and I never liked her to begin with.

True. But I believe that it was Lexus's death that had the most effect on Rhue. It was then he really turned cold hearted. It's as if that was the event that drove him over the edge.

The long lead up kinda did lower the...er..."surprise" of killing her, but still, I found it more sad than Lyrra's death. I'm still going "WTF???" over that part. THAT was sudden. I guess Lyrra's death to me is more shocking than sad. I think that can apply to Lilah's death as well.

I think that Lexus' death may be something of a red herring, with respect to the change in Rhue's behavior. More likely, he lost whatever was left of his original soul in Jopaga's lab, and something else took over (his sword is my best guess, see: http://www.crestfallen.us/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=11728&highlight=#11728).

Lilah's death is depressing, Lyrra's death is shocking, but Lexus' death was pretty sad. The first time I saw her running through the corridor, I was begging for her to not run through to where Rhue was.
