For those of you who have had the pleasure of getting annihilated, you've seen the game over screen. What you may not have noticed, is the strange blackish... letters? At the top. On a hunch, I exported the gameover screen to a bmp, and started coloring the text white. By chance, I also filled the corners white, and, well...

Interesting. No big secrets revealed or anything, like the messages in The Pits in E3.

Here's a close up of the indecipherable lettering:

Open up Episode 3 in RM2K, and view the upper layer tiles. In various Pit maps, there should be interesting messages.

I think those messages were just about people Lun knows - the best one, of course, being "Cocoa Sucks".

I knew about those messages in the game over screen. I assumed you were supposed to subconsiously pick them up and feel a little uneasy due to it.

I have very keen eyesight, and I just read them off the first or second time I died. I sort of wondered why he'd made them so hard to read though.....

They didn't look hard enough to read to be secrets, so I didn't know what they were. (My only guess was that you weren't supposed to notice them the first couple times you died, except perhaps subliminally.)

And pick up the whole "Afraid! DOOM!" and "MY LIFE IS OVER!" crap and feel like...eh...a little creeped. Things like that tend to do that.
