While it's not yet certain what role the relationship variables will have on the coming chapters, here's a list of things to do if you want the maximum possible score for each character.

Episode 1:

There's the complete list. Some of these choices affect dialogue in later parts of the game, but other than that I don't know if there's ever going to be another use for any of this stuff. You used to be able to save Lexus with a high enough relationship but that level is now impossible to attain due to reasons beknownst only to Lun and anyone else he's told. At any rate, if you want to get the highest possible score with everyone this here list will help.

Why would you want to maximize each relationship? Just choose the dialogue option you think fits you or the character best. The variables have been put in for that exact reason! If everyone tries to maximize it, then why the hell did Lun put them in in the first place? Variables are supposed to be VARIABLE, not MAXIMIZED.

If you play through for the second time, then yeah, you could maximize them to see what's different. The first playthrough I'd just stick with my own choices.
