If you think Superman would lose to Spider man... you are ignorant.

He would.
Batman, too.
And the Hulk.
And Deadpool.
And the Green-fucking-Lantern.

Spiderman could pwn anyone. just because he was so awesome. He was the only superhero that used comeback lines and comedy. All the other superheroes were punks. And if Spiderman had kryptonite, Superman would get ownt.

Superman would own Spiderman and Batman at the same time.

Agreed. I may like Spiderman more, but Superman would own them.

Superman was made to completely ignore any sense of balance, he is strong, fast, intelligent, and has a bunch of superpowers. None of them would stand a chance unless they had kryptonite.

I'm forced to agree with Wanderer about his powers. However, I think this makes Superman absolute and complete trash. It was a superhero designed by a juvenile, with no real weaknesses (Oh, come on, kyptonite? Who the hell cares?). If the person who made Superman wrote a book about him, no one except people with minimal intillect would buy it. And I doubt only a few of them would, because people like that don't read. Sorry. Superman is trash, through and through.

Superman was the first comic book superhero. He was a lot less powerful back in the olden days. He couldn't fly, had none of his umpteed special visions, and possessd much more limited invulnerability. (In the first comic with Lex Luthor, who then had hair, Supe barely survived a jump to the very top of the atmosphere.) He got tougher into the 1940s and 1950s, and the more powerful he became, the more people liked it.

Since the 1960s, and the Marvel age of comics, Superman has been considered passe by comic afficianados, just because he is way too powerful. The Marvel superheroes of that period were much weaker and had more characterization. This includes The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, The Uncanny X-Men, the Invincible Ironman, The Mighty Thor, Daredevil, the man without fear, and The Amazing Spiderman. Spiderman is something of an anomaly among this famous group, as all the others were invented by Lee and Kirby, but Spidey was Lee and Ditko.
