CHAIN FAN FICTION-Rebeard (Continued)---JOIN IN!

Postby Chip » Wed Apr 14, 2004 8:02 pm

OOS: I had to set up a new thread. The other one was full of comments that had nothing to do plot-wise with the Rebeard fan fiction. We can continue it here. The post below shows the entries made so far.

(Join in as you come up with ideas...)

The air had a certain chill to it. Rebeard shivered at the sheer wind that blew through his long, brown beard. He shook his head, trying to knock the snow from his face. There were in the mountains; that is, Rebeard and the two Lyn pulling him along. Dell and Asder were their names, as Rebeard had picked up from their discussion with each other. He knew not of where they were going, yet was sure that they were meeting someone at their destination.

Rebeard coughed. His throat was beginning to swell from the weather. His shoes were terribly worn, and would possibly crumble from around his feet any minute.

A jab stung into Rebeard's back. Dell had hit him with the butt of his blade.

"GET MOVING!" Dell commanded, pulling up from the ground on which Rebeard had collapsed.

The prisoner regained his posture, and continued onward; Asder in front of him, Dell following behind.

(That was all that great. Develop a plot though. I've come to enjoy this chain fictions.)

BUSTERMANZERO

Rebeard sighed as he and his captors continued their march. He really wished he'd known better than to kill a Blood Lyn, but the guy had been standing between him and his prize, and the other man had drawn his weapon first. Of course, when the Lyn came down to it, if you killed one of their own and were caught, you would have to pay. Rebeard was just happy he'd managed to leave the prize for his partner before being caught. He just hoped his friend has able to do something about this mess...

LEO

Rebeard swollowed hard as he thought of the events leading up to this point, misfourtian, lies, death, as all these swirled in his mind, he nearly forgot that he was getting taken to a gruesome fate. He thought of running, though that was suicide, these were well trained Lyn's and to try to kill them no less would be certain death, he was trapped, he thought of what would kill him first, the Lyn's, stravation, or the frost. All he knew was that the treasure would be gone unless his friend could hide it, because many were after them, it was even said they were getting tracked by a Shadowfoot. Speaking of which, he wondered what would happen to them if they were attacked by one, the thought of his and his partner's blood flying every where almost made him vomit. He stopped ofr a second again, but was agin hit by the Lyn to continue moving, Rebeard tried to let them stop for food, but they told him it would take to long and the storm would get worse if they didn't hurry.

"Where are we going?" Rebeard questioned Dell, Dell paused for a minute, probably wondering to tell him, then with a sight he told him, "Estrana". This made Rebeard's heart sank, had he done something so bad as to be sentanced to Estrana as if he were Dancing Violet? All he had done was killed to men, why didn't they deliver him to the next settlement, he could easily escape from one of them. The Lyn's continued walking for several hours until they came to a figure walking alone in the snow, the way he was dressed made Rebeard certain it was obne thing, a Shadowfoot. Rebeard sunk his face down so the Shadowfoot wouldn't see his face, the to Lyn's stayed calm, though Rebeard could see a bit of fear in there eyes.

"Where are you taking this man?" The Shadowfoot said, " Estrana" Asder said, they Shadowfoot opened his eyes briefly, then closed them again, "Why to Estrana?" Dell told him the story of finding him with two dead Blood Lyn's, and the Shadowfoot sighed and began to walk away, the Lyn's started up, then the Shadowfoot tunred around and quickly struck Asdar down, and then stabbed Dell without a notice for the blood on his balde.

"Rebeard the theif I belive." The Shadowfoot said with a grin, " wanted for mass murder and theift. Though it was you." The Shadowfoot then started pushing Rebeard along, it seemed that Rebeard was now in the possesion of a Shaowfoot, the Shadowfoot then said " The names Taz, remeber it scum" and with that they satrted agin.

( I will edit it if you don't want it)

CHIP

(No, it's fine. Alot of grammar errors, but it will do. I'll post now, I guess.)

Rebeard realized now that escape was inevitable. Dell and Asder could have been easily dumbfounded...but this "Taz"...he could not. He was a Shadow Foot. Men across the Way would go a mile off-course just to avoid crossing paths with a Shadow Foot. This Shadow Foot had dealt with the two Lyn so easily..it was almost as if they let him kill them. They didn't lift a sword before he...

A fist came across the back of Rebeard's head.

"Speed up, you filth," came the harsh voice of Taz.

Rebeard bit his lip to keep from shooting back a sarcastic remark. That was the way for Rebeard. He always had something to say that would leave whom ever he was arguing with dumbstruck. But, now it was time to hold back to offensive phrases and stick to taking the hits like a man.

A gust of snow flew into Rebeard's eyes. He attempted to wipe it off, but his hands were tied behind his back. The bearded prisoner shook his head, and the snow fell away. Rebeard then continued to think about the position he is in.

Jacob had better have gotten away safely with the Samurai Blade.

(There. That's a fine entry. It will do. Continue onward, oh Way fans..)

BUSTERMANZERO

OOS = Out of Story
IS = In Story

(OOS: Okay people...)

IS: Jacob sat under the tree, watching the rain come down. He was cold, wet, and hungry. His dark hair looked more brown than black now thanks to the many flecks of mud in it, and his clothes were even worse. Truely, the only thing in good shape about him right now was his pack. It sat beside him under the most protected part of the tree, fully dry. His sword was strapped on the right side, and the Samurai Blade on the other. He had some food left, but he wouldn't if he ate it now, as the settlement was still a day away. Tonight he'd have to make due with the rainwater that fell into his cup, which sat outside of his natural shelter.

There, alone and miserable, Jacob made a silent vow to finish the mission and get Rebeard out of whatever trouble he was in.

HUMANBEAN17

Jacob sighed deeply. The rain appeared as if it would never let up. Jacob did his best to get comfortable against the rough-barked tree, hoping to get a little rest. But he doubted he would get much sleep... thoughts of everything that happened in the past few hours swam around in his head... He looked around the tree, checking to see if anyone was around. Jacob would have to do his best to be avoiding for the next few days... The Blood Lyn were out for Jacob... and nothing was going to get in their way.

Is it worth it? he thought to himself.

Jacob was an incredible fighter... but he felt very uneasy that someone was chasing him. It wasn't the Blood Lyn that made him so nervous... Jacob had a premonition lodged deep in his mind... The Blood Lyn weren't the only ones after Jacob... Something... unnatural... was out for Jacob... Jacob sighed again and looked over towards his pack. He tooked out the Samurai Sword and unsheathed it. He could only begin to comprehend the power that thrived in the sword. But even so, as he held the sword he could almost feel the power pulsing through his body.

Yeah... It's worth it...

Jacob twirled the sword around casually, and then laided it in his palms... He glanced down at the blade. In the reflection he saw a figure standing above him. Jacob was very startled, but remained calm, analyzing the situation. The figure was covered in shadows... so Jacob couldn't tell if the person was friend or foe... Or human.

CHIP

OOS: BMZ, I like your way of thinking. The OOS and IS concept was a simple idea, but a good one nonetheless. You all make me so proud...
Sorry, it's just tough... Okay. I'm going to post now.

IS:

The Shadow continued to stand, straight as an arrow, upon the thick tree branch. Jacob marveled at this Shadow's balance. It was as if the figure had no fear of dropping the 10 feet between the ground and the branch.
Upon examining the Shadow, Jacob noticed that the Shadow wasn't looking at him. With this in mind, Jacob wondered whether the Shadow even knew of his presence.

Could THIS be the Phantom Slasher? Jacob thought to himself.

Then, in a single swift movement, the Shadow had leapt from the branch to the ground. Jacob gasped. This strange figure showed no signs of injury.
The sun shone upon this stranger's clothing. Jacob could now make out this strange character.
The figure was indefinitely a man. Despite the young face, the build of the man could easily be taken to be that of a 30+ year old. There was a crossbow at his right side, and a miniature curved-blade at his left. The hair was of a dirty-blonde tint, and the eyes glowed an eerie green. The hair style was simple: flat and parted down the center. The figure was no-doubt an assassin.
Jacob sat perfectly still. He didn't want this assassin to notice him if not necessary.

The assassin began to walk deeper into the forest. His prey had done well. He would let Jacob live to see another day.

OOS: This entry was not-all-that-great, but it should progress us through the story. This fan-fiction is doing much better than the last one. Please, continue to write with great detail. I like progression, but I LOVE detail. Thank you all for your cooperation, and continue to do well.

BUSTERMANZERO

OOS: Sigh...it's becoming harder and harder to have a serious thread on this forum...which is a bad thing.

I got the OOS idea from the old OOC bit from RPs. Out of Character, you know?

IS:
The man sat in his chair, staring out at the settlement beyond his window. Uratha, it was called. The man had no idea how the name had come to be, but had little time to concern himself with such matters. What mattered was a precious relic had been stolen from his collection and the men he'd sent out hadn't sent any messages yet.

Then man sighed and turned his chair back to his desk. On it sat the brother weapon of the one that had been stolen, only it was slightly shorter and a bit more curved. The craftsmanship rivalled that of any other blade that you could find on The Way. Stories told that the two weapons rivalled even the Illuminati and Shadow Swords.

Knowing of the Seru he could get for the pair, the man grew angry once again. However, he felt a superior smile cross his face. "Well, dear brother Jacob," the man muttered. "You may think yourself cleaver to have stolen my prize, but are you clever enough to avoid a Shadowfoot, Blood Lyn, and even Head-hunters?!"

IS:

Rebeard was glad that they had finally stopped for rest in a cave. Taz had driven him to his breaking point, jabbing at and striking him whenever he wasn't going the "appropriate speed".
Taz stood at the mouth of the cavern. He wanted to stop any attempt the prisoner made to escape. Rebeard shook his head. Taz worried too much. Rebeard had neither the strength nor the courage to stand up against a Shadow Foot in the current state he was in. And even if Rebeard DID get away from Taz, where could he go? Rebeard had no knowledge of this mountain range. He would end up lost, dying from starvation.
Rebeard drifted into a light sleep. Taz had told him that they would stay there for two hours maximum. It had already been at least half an hour. Rebeard was going to need every bit of energy he could manage. His eyelids drifted upon his sight.

-----------

Tarick looked out into the forest that surrounded him and his company of wanderers. They were hoping to settle in nearby Fort Majiro, built to protect the inhabitants from attacks from any unhuman-creatures. Tarick's father, Rodin, sat at the front of the wagon, driving the two mules that pulled the wagon along. Tarick's cousin, Yupher, sat behind him, eating. Tarick was in the back of the small wooden wagon, looking at the scenery.
Along with this wagon, two guards were set in both the front and back of the wagon. In front, Ether and Qwiss held spears and blades. In back, Frash and Orie held bows and hand-axes. Tarick felt protected by the men. Frash and Qwiss were friends of Rodin, while Ether and Frash were hired guards. Two other wagon-groups had come along with Rodin's wagon, but they had headed off in the directions of either Merrick or Uratha.
Tarick looked out into the forest. He saw a man, standing there by the tree-line.

"Dad!" Tarick yelled, too afraid to move.

Rodin quickly stopped the wagon, and the guards halted in place. Orie drew his bow, setting an arrow in it's place on the weapon. Pulling the string back, he harshly asked: "Name?"
The stranger lifted up his hands, stepping into the light of the path.

"Name's Jacob," the stranger replied, slowly putting hands down.

Orie looked this 'Jacob' over. Suddenly, Orie gasped, seeing the crest that was set into Jacob's breastplate.

Could this young wanderer be one as well?Orie silently asked himself.

Orie nodded, and Rodin stepped down from his place at the head of the wagon. Approaching Jacob, Rodin stretched out a friendly hand.

"Hallo, Jacob," Tarick's father said. "Mi name's Rodin. I'm head of this wagon. What brings you to these parts?"

Jacob accepted the outstretch palm, shaking Rodin's hand merrily. He had to get out of this forest before the assassin found him.

"Um..." Jacob stuttered, "I..I'd like to join your wagon-partnership. I'm..on m..my way to Fort Majiro."

Jacob then cleared his throat, and he became comfortable with speaking. Jacob reached into his pocket, pulling out a small brown bag. He threw it to Rodin, who then opened it. Rodin gasped at the sight of the objects that lay idle within the miniature packet. Golden seru coins. 12 to be exact.
Rodin looked up at Jacob, who returned him with a nod. Rodin quickly shoved the bag into his pant pocket, and stepped back onto the wagon front.

"Jump aboard, young Jacob," he called to the wanderer.

Jacob smiled, realizing that he was now safer within the wagon than he had been within the forest boundaries. Mildly jumping into the back of the wagon, Jacob set his pack down onto the floor of the wagon beside Tarick. No one even noticed that he had possession of the great Samurai sword Lakis.

------------

Hemmer and Colt, both Blood Lyn, looked down at the bodies of Dell and Asder. Rebeard would pay for killing his captors.

EMPERORJERAMYU

IS:
Rebeard stared at the ground with a distasteful look. Being alone would have been better than being with Taz.

The shadowfoot observed out of the cave at the pouring rain. The weather made no difference to him; the livelyhood of his prey did. As much as he resented it, Rebeard was of much greater use to the Vigilante aive; much more than Rebeard himself knew. Taz pulled out a crusty corner of bread from his knapsack. He threw it to the ground before Rebeard.

"Eat." he commanded.

Rebeard stared with half astonishment, half disgust. He could see the wet clay soaking into the bread. Quavering with resentment, he stuffed the whole piece into his mouth. It couldn't have tasted worse. He held back the urge to vomit.

Taz seemed to not even breathe as he watched with Eagle eyes out of the cave, spying even the slightest movement in the trees. This was what he was trained to do. The sound of footsteps instantly brought Taz's hand to the hilt of his sword. He attuned his senses, and determined the origin of the sound.

A man, perhaps in his late twenties, or early thirties strolled infront of the cave. He was dressed in a somewhat expensive silver silk tunic, and a purplish cape was wrapped around his neck. His hair was a glimmering silver, slightly long, and drawn into a ponytail that extended a bit past his shoulders.

"Hello." The man said perfectly calmly.

"State your name and business." Taz replied, keeping his sword to the man's neck.

"I am Zent. Lord Zent to be precise." he replied still in a calm voice.

"I've never heard of you." Taz remarked disrespectfully.

"Ah, well... I shun publicity. I'm closest to what you would call an archiologist. I was up in these moutains looking for runes. You know, carvings?"

Taz continued his glare. "Get lost. This is no place for you."

"But you see, I was about to search this cave..." Zent answered.

"Too bad. Leave or die." Taz replied, trying to seem as imposing as he could.

"Ah... but you see...", Zent began. He had a polite smile on his face, yet it came off as slightly unnerving to Taz, "I must do my research."

Even the hardened Taz began to buckle under the unnerving smile. "Fine... but be quick with it.", he said, stepping aside.

Zent walked through, and bowed to Rebeard. "Good day sir." he addressed quickly. He continued to down the cave.

OOS:
That's all I can muster for now. Don't do anything drastic, like kill off Zent or anything.

HUMANBEAN17

IS:

Taz stared at Zent intently as he pulled out a small brown leather covered book and began examining the cave walls. Zent moved slowly down the cave, scaning the walls as he went. Taz followed silently, keeping both Zent and Rebeard in his sight. When Zent was too far down the cave, Taz turned to Rebeard. "Stay!" he barked.

Should I? Rebeard pondered as an escape route was opened to him. Nah... I better not...

The cave twisted around and came to a dead end after only about another 20 meters. "Hurry it up," Taz ordered. Zent said nothing. "This cave is not that deep... It has no runes."

As if talking to himself, Zent finally muttered, "Just as I suspected." He continued murmering things like, "I wonder if..." "Very interesting..." and "Could it be?" as Taz drew his sword and pointed it to Zent's back.

"Times up."

Zent turned to Taz. "Well, thank you for your time. My suspecions were correct." He put the book away, and began to walk off. Taz followed. They got back to where Rebeard sat. Zent stopped and turned to Taz. A scroll fell out from his cape quietly at Rebeard's feet. Rebeard quickly stuffed into his pocket... He couldn't help but be suspecious. "I would suggest that you find somewhere else to stay tonight," Zent added with a twinkle in his eye. He twirled around quickly and marched out.

"Lands," said Taz. "What a moron..."

CHIP

IS:

Lakis and Lavene, the two Great Swords of Uratha. And now, Lakis was gone. The man was unhappy indeed.

Samuel looked down upon Lavene, the smaller of the pair and only remaining one left. His brother, Jacob, and that Rebeard fellow had been so quick with their mischevious plan. Rebeard took out the Blood Lyn, and Jacob fled with the sword. Now, Rebeard was being taken across the snow-capped mountains by Blood Lyn, and Jacob was being hunted down by a bounty hunter. How sweet this would be to watch the two morons fall.

---------

Orie looked at Jacob, who was sitting comfortably in the wagon.

That crest..he thought,it MUST mean that...

Slowly, Orie looked down upon his own breastplate, realizing that he did, indeed, have the same crest as this "Jacob". They were both Blood Raids.

--------

Rebeard looked up at Taz, and then upon the scroll, which he continued to shield away from Taz's sight. At the top of the scroll were runes, the same ones that Rebeard could see on the walls. Below the scroll runes, the text showed.

The Runes Are Forged...
The Deed Is Done....
When Moon falls Unto....
The Legion shall rise....

Of course, it didn't have the catchy rythmn that Rebeard had hoped for, but it was a sign nonetheless. He MUST have Taz stay within the cave long enough for the moonlight to touch the Runes. Whatever this Legion was, it was dangerous.

"I suggest you find somewhere else to stay tonight.." Zent had said.

Perhaps the Legion would help Rebeard. Perhaps...Taz will die...

OOS: Sorry, it sucked. But hey, keep going.

LEO

Taz looked down at Rebeard, this would be easy, the man had already been worn down, he was tired, he was a mess, he had nothing to worry. Taz sighed, he had better get started on his report, he sat down, still looking at Rebeard, and began to write, he told of finding him in the Lyn's possesion, and thn he stopped, he though of that man, what's his name, Zent. What gave him the right to tell him, a shadowfoot, what to do and where to sleep. He must have been crazy, off and thinking he was a lord, thinking he knew what to do, he had no reason to be any of those, he has pathatic.

Taz raised his eyes toward's Rebeard, this man didn't look like a threat, were the stories misleading, it didn't seem like he could hurt a fly. Taz went back to the report, this was turning out to be an uneventful day, he felt tired, but he always felt that way, because he rarly got any sleep. But he must not sllep, he has to continue keeping guard, his eyes were getting dizzy, he had to be out of here in a few minutes, his vision was fuzzy. He had to sleep, and with that he was in a light daze.

JADE

OOS: YAY! my turn!

IS: The moonlight began to peirce beyond the layer of black clouds. One small ray penetrated straight into the cave, grazing the walls. The runes were lit up, and shadows began to crawl from the darkness. These shadows were those of both beast and human, and yet were those of which did not exist. Rebeard awoke, and noticed the shadows. This must be the Legion that the scroll talked about. Quickly, Rebeard stuffed the scroll into his vest, and began racing to the mouth of the cave.
That's when Hemmer and Colt intercepted him. Grabbing the Wanderer by the arms, they snickered villianously.
"Where you headed, good sir?" Colt asked humorously.
"It's a bit late for a good ol' stroll, now ain't it?" Hemmer questioned.
The two laughed evilly. That's when Taz woke up.
"What in Hel..lah, Blood Lyn," Taz stuttered. "Get away from that prisoner.
All at once, the Legion charged at the four men. Colt and Hemmer let go of Rebeard, who bolted out the cave entrance. Taz spun around, slaying one of the Legion Men. A Legion Beast leapt at Hemmer, slashing into the man's head. Hemmer died instantly, and this body fell to the ground harshly.
As Rebeard turned around, he could only see Colt and Taz, back to back, incircled by the great mass of Legion warriors. He could only hope that the swarm of shadowed figures could distract the two long enough for him to get a good distance away. It was now Rebeard, alone, in the range of snow-capped mountains..bound for an unknown destination.

EMPERORJERAMYU

IS:

Rebeard dragged himself far up a hill, to where he could barely see Taz and Colt struggling against the Legions. Rebeard turned, Zent was right next to him, spying the Legion through a small telescope, all while muttering phrases like "Amazing!", and "Facinating!"

Rebeard said nothing and only stared incredulously at the man. Zent finally relented, and turned to him. "Amazing, isn't it?". Rebeard continued to stare.

"This is a very rare occurance.", he said nochelantly, "Though I have seen more than one poor sap get torn apart this way."

Rebeard finally gathered his senses. "W...Will they live?"

Zent shrugged. "It depends if they can last about 6 more hours. They're doing pretty good, I'd say."

Rebeard made out Taz cutting down several of the beasts. "What are they?"

Zent stared intently at the mountains. "That's a good question. I suspect they're part pure darkness, part deteriorated aura. You can never quite tell. That's why I study these mountains. Looking for a clue to the riddle."

Rebeard glanced at Zent. He was still gazing off, as if to look for something more. There was a rustle in the bushes behind. Rebeard whirled about, and watched a stray legion pull himself through. Rebeard began to back up.

Zent calmly turned.

The movement happened in an instant. Zent suddenly gathered energy to his fingers and pointed it forward, leaving the energy hovering in the air. In a second, he repeated the act twice, creating the points of a triangle. He drew the energy back into his hand. In another second, Zent traced the energy into an ornate pattern infront of him, detailing meshes of the runes Rebeard had briefly glanced at in the cave. The carving of energy came together instantly to produce a fireball shooting forward, that blew the Legion to pieces.

Rebeard was speachless again. Zent spoke, "Strange. They never wander that far from the caves. He seemed intent on you, good sir."

"M..mm..me?" Rebeard stammered, still trying to comprehend what he had just seen.

"Yes. Quite strange." Zent replied.

The two turned to the mountain.

"The night draws dangerous." Zent stated, "We should be off. My wife is probably worried about me anyway."

"T...to where?" Rebeard stammered.

"Why to my place of lordness. It's still under construction, but it should be decent to stay in." Zent paused, "It's called Fort Majiro."

OOS: Great! were getting somewhere!

IS: Taz stabbed through another one, they kept coming, not even in training did they have to do something like this, and what made this worse was that he was fighting with a Blood Lyn, the very thought made him made.

"Damn Lyn", Taz said with a grin as he got another one," Can't you do any better?!"

"When thi is done, your dead, and so is the man!" Colt said, as he hit one aside.

"Like to see you try!" Taz laughed, but has taken off guard and was pounced on by a Legion, he hit it off him in a second, but the damage was done, he felt a small trickle of blood go down his arm. It was a small gash, no thicker then a hair, and no longer then a paper cut, yet it hurt, it hurt with great pain.

"LANDS!" He yelled, this was no ordinary cut, it felt as though he had been sliced with a sword, began to get dizzy, he felt faint.

"Sleeping Poisen" Colt smirked as he hit one back, he knew that he couldn't keep this u for long, and without this stranger, he couldn't live, and so he quickly pulled out a herb and put it on Taz's cut.

"Get up you bastard!" Colt yelled at Taz, Taz did, then slashed another Legion.

"This is humiliating!" He said in a sigh "My prisoner got away, and now I am helped by a Blood Lyn!"

"You forgot the part where you are KILLED by a Blood Lyn!" Colt said, as he fought off another.

"Must have slipped my mind" Taz said, he wouldn't die here, he had to get his mission, he had to show up this Lyn.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacob looked up at the emrald trees in the forest, the rain had made it very wet, it made just moving a swim. He had to keep a low profile, if any of then questioned him about his pack, he would have to run, and he didn't want to go out there with the assassin after him.

OOS: Ok. sorry about the trouble I caused. I'll make it up to you by contributing a bit.

IS: The wagon lurched slowly down the path as Jacob conversed happily with his new friend, Rodin. Jacob hadn't spoken to anybody for days. At least not till Rebeard was captured in front of his eyes. "If only I wasn't such a coward," he thought to himself. "I could have done something." Of course this brought another thought. Maybe he had been right in hiding. After all, he had the samurai sword and was heading to a place of refuge."But I couldn't live with Rebeard's death on my hands...but then again, I have a lot of people's deaths on my hands..."

"...So then I tells him 'why don't you kill it yourself?' and he does! except this time he isn't so lucky. his arm gets entirely torn off. if it wasn't for my excellent medicinal skill he would be dead. I told him flisks are tough critters...Anyway, so why are you in such a hurry anyway? something to do with the sword?"
These words came from Rodin. "Yeah," was all Jacob said in reply. Rodin knew he would have to know Jacob better in order to learn more about his situation. and more about that sword. A smirk shot about Rodin's face,
"Sure, whatever..."

OOS: Yeah it's short and not that good but i'll contribute more later.

OOS: Thanks Chicken.

IS:

The two were doing better. Taz's scar had healed, and Colt was finally using his XP. Yet, the Legion kept seeping from the wall.

How much more can we take?Taz asked himself.

At the start of the battling, Colt had hated Taz with a passion. However, Colt now seemed fond of Taz, weakening the enemy, and allowing Taz to strengthen his sword by finishing them off. They were working together. Still, the hard-headed Taz continued to yell threats to the Blood Lyn soldier.

"I swear, Lyn," he would say, "Your blood shall spill this very night."

Colt played along with this little 'game'.

"You shall need the wrath of a true Lyn before the sun rises," Colt replied.

The two then raised their blades, and continued battling the Legion.

---------

Rebeard and Zent were nearing closer to Fort Majiro by the minute. Of course, it was necessary for Rebeard to stop ever-so-often and massage his bruises. Zent was patient, knowing that this Wanderer had gone through alot.
At one point, Rebeard stop to catch his breath. Zent stopped in place, and smiled. He was willing to wait. Out of his shirt, Rebeard pulled out the rune scroll. Throwing it to Zent, he weakly commented:

"That would be yours."

Zent shook his head, and threw it back.

"Keep it," the fair lord said, "You may find it useful later on in your journey."

Rebeard sighed and nodded. Perhaps Lord Zent was right. Perhaps he was going the Legion's assistance sooner than he thought.
Stuffing the parchment into his shirt again, Rebeard rose and continued to trek the snow with Zent.

OOS: I'm in a hurry. I couldn't spell-check. I apologize.

IS: Taz and Colt were still fighting, it had been at least been two hours, and he was tired, they kept coming and coming, even for a Shadowffot, this was tough. Taz turned to Colt, the Blood Lyn was tired as well, he could see his once fearce eyes closing, and if he did go, Taz was dead. He turned to the Lyn and did the one thing he knew would get him active:

"Get up you Damn Lyn!" He yelled and smacked him in the back, the Lyn's eyes grew big again, and he began to spit back insult and such as he fought of the legion's.

"Better a Lyn then a thug!" Colt yelled, he was going to hit Taz back, but he decided it was useless.

They fought and fought, each strike gave them more reason to collapse, but they had to fight, to live, they had fight. Taz thought of running, which would be the best decison, but the legions came on and on, they had no where to get away from them.

"Damn this!" Taz yelled, "This is suicide, and I won't kill myself!" then Taz become very violent, he stabbed left and right, he killed many in minutes, he was acting as a true Shadowfoot, but they kept coming.

"Idiot, you can stay here, I'm leaving!" and with that, Colt charged through the legions, in the way oppositeof the entrance, he didn't care where, just away from the cave.

Taz decicded that this was pointless, he ran with Colt outside the Legion's, they didn't stop running until they were a few miles away from the cave, they could see the Legion's go back into the cave, as if nothing happened.

"Fla-(Pant)-ming moron!" Taz said, as he lay on the ground, he looked up for a reaction, but Colt was already passed out, within minutes, Taz was asleep as well.

OOS: Some describtion of Taz.

He wears the trademark Shadowfoot black coat, orange wild hair, a mean look on his face, baggy pants and shirts. There.

IS: A cool wind rustled through the trees, and swooped down to gently glided across Jacob's hair. The campfire sparkled in his eyes, as he lay there on the ground. Jacob glanced around at the other wanderers... They seemed to be asleep. Jacob hadn't slept for days, but his body seemed to handle it well. His thoughts were haunted with the terrible sins he commited. It wasn't often that Jacob mourned over his actions. But Jacob felt convinced that something very unnatural was loose, seeking to devour him.

I am coming, wanderer. I can sense you... Feel your every move... You abandoned your true purpose. You must be punished.

Jacob awoke with a start.

Must have dozed off...

Jacob felt a sudden pressure rushing through his lower body. He glanced around, making sure that everyone was still asleep, and then got up and went deeper into the woods to seek relief. Rodin's eyes suddenly shot open.

Finally, a chance to talk to him alone... This should be very interesting...

OOS: Not the best, but I was kind of in a writing mood.

It was sunrise. Rebeard was almost buckling under his own weight as the small skyline of Fort Majiro appeared over the .

Rebeard could see that it was definately a fort under construction. The walls of the fort were wooden-- massive oaks erected in the earth, towering at least 30 feet high, shaven to a point at the top. There were four guard towers at each corner, two of which seemed acceptibly completed. The area of the fort was quite large, and many a building stood, and would stand there. There appeared to be a lodge, supply room, and an administrative mansion functioning. Few gardens and plowed fields surrounded the fort, which was all and all enclosed by dense forest. For Rebeard, it was a sign of relief.

"Welcome to Fort Majiro." Stated Zent, as the two approached the gate, "You're welcome to stay here as long as you wish. Provided you become a use to us at some point."

Rebeard said nothing, but gave an appreciative nod as he continued to breath heavily.

Zent gave a loud whistle, and footsteps came clambering up one of the guard towers. A face peered down from the top, it dissapeared momentarily.

"All make way for Lord Zent!"

The gate heaved a mighty sigh as it dredged open. The sight inside was that of any fort starting its day: men cleansing in the bath pool, others warming up, taking laps around the fort. An older man with a clipboard jogged up to the two.

"Lord Zent! The wagon-partnership you requested shall arrive this afternoon!" He read off earnestly.

"Good." Zent replied, "We need a few extra hands around here. We're falling behind my schedule."

Another man jogged up to Rebeard. "That's Lord Zent for you. He's under service of someone, but you'll never hear him admit it. He does things his own way." He said with an air of respect.

Rebeard nodded wearily, and followed Zent to the mansion. They walked inside.

Several servants bowed instantaneously, Zent acknowledged with a nod. A woman hurridly decended a staircase at the back of the room. She was the most beautiful woman Rebeard had even seen; long blonde hair, and a kind face with soft orchid eyes that soothed Rebeard on the spot. This could have been rebuked by the large bow strapped around her back, but Rebeard enjoyed the moment.

"Ah... my Lord... you have returned." she spoke softly.

Zent bowed. "My dear wife Louisa. How have you been?"

"Fine... but better now with your return..." she replied. She glanced behind Zent, "And who is this weary traveller you bring with you?"

Zent stepped aside. "This is sir..."

"Rebeard." The bandit managed to gasp out.

"Sir Rebead." Zent announced with unwarranted respect. "We met up in the mountains. He was without respite, so I brought him home."

Louisa curtsied. "Welcome to our humble settlement."

Rebeard's eye twitched momentarily. He nodded, unable to gasp out any words.

"Sir Rebeard has had a long day." Zent said. He turned to the servants, "See that he is comforatable in the guest room."

The servants rushed over to him, directing him into a well furnished room. Finally... rest... Rebeard thought to himself.

OOS: I am a tad bit too tired for my liking, so if this entry seemed horribly novice, please forgive me in advance.

IS:

The forest was dark. It was the best place to go when thinking was necessary. It resembled escapism for many, and mystery for others.

Being in the forest reminded Jacob of his childhood. He would sit on the ground, back against a tree, and read for hours at his old home right outside of Uratha. His brother Jion and sister Esther knew not to disturb their older brother while he read Lion's Heart.
But, being the spoiled boy that he was raised as, Render would always disrupt Jacob's concentration. Oh, how Render would aggravate Jacob so. Jacob swore that he would get Render back. And now...
Jacob looked at Lakis, which was now flung onto his back in it's holster.
...now he had...Render was one sword short.

Suddenly, something rustled about in the forest. Jacob jumped to attention, drawing Lakis as quick as he possibly could.
Out of the bushes came Rodin. The wagon-driver lifted his hands in innocence. Jacob smiled, and withdrew Lakis from his hands and onto his back.

"I'm just coming to talk," Rodin commented as Jacob sat down onto a nearby fallen tree.

"Yeah?" Jacob asked, setting Lakis down by his feet on the ground.

Rodin coughed, nodding in reply to Jacob's question.

"What are you doing out here?" Rodin asked.

Jacob shrugged. "I came out here to think about...stuff."

Rodin shakes his head. "No. What are you doing? Why are you wandering like so."

Jacob nods, realizing now what Rodin meant. "I am trying to reach a certain person."

Thinking of Rebeard made Jacob sorrowful. Rebeard had fought off the Lyn so that Jacob could have a chance to take Lakis and leave. It was cowardly of him to leave. Rebeard was probably at the gallows by now.

"Looks more like you are running from something," Rodin said.

Jacob looked at Rodin curiously. What was this wagon-man getting at?

"My business is my business, Rodin," Jacob returned. "It is as simple as that."

Yet, Rodin was determined.

"It's the sword, isn't it?" Rodin asked.

Jacob looked down at Lakis.

"Aye," Jacob replied. "It is involved in the current situation I am in. But as I said before, it is my business."

Rodin slowly stretched his hand out towards the Samurai sword, which lay idle upon the ground.

"I would not mind taking it off your hands, dear Jacob," the wagon-man said.

Jacob looked Rodin in the eyes, though Rodin's sight was focused primarily on Lakis. Jacob could recognize greed. He recognized it now. This Rodin fellow wanted the sword whole-heartedly. Jacob would be force to intervene.
Suddenly, Lakis flashed a bright white light. Rodin fell backwards, holding his formerly-outstretched arm in pain. Tears began to stream from Rodin's eyes.

"That blade is cursed by the Lord Below himself!" Rodin exclaimed as he ran back to the campsite, where he would waller in pain until the throbbing ceased.

Jacob looked down at the Samurai sword Lakis. It knew Rodin's intentions. Perhaps it was more than Jacob would be able to handle. Perhaps...

Jacob quickly picked up the sword, sticking it into the holster that had remained upon his back. He then returned to the camp, where he slept with one eye always opened the entire night.

-----

Alirick looked down at Jacob from the top of a tree. Lord Render would appreciate hearing about Lakis' new ability.

OOS: In case, I didn't make it clear, Alirick is the assassin that has been following Jacob for some time now. Please, continue writing. Don't kill off the wagon-men just yet please. I beg of that. Continue posting!

OOS: Sinova...Fitz Tayo..Excell....

All of you are capable of writing some good-quality entries for this fan fiction. If you are completely NOT INTERESTED then I understand. But at LEAST consider it. We would like some new writers. If someone doesn't write anything by tomorrow, then I'll just post something new.

IS: Zent walked along the house, then the town, introducing Rebeard to peope along the way. Seeing all these guards made him both confident and afraid, Taz might not beable to get in here, if were alive, and the Blood Lyn had no chance, while the guards could find his story out.

Zent was still very great to Rebeard, he knew it would take a while him to recover from the injuries he had gotten, he just needed time. Zent came to the front gate, where he started to talk to the gate keeper, he turned to Rebeard and began conversation.

"Well, what do you think?" Zent said with a smile, Rebeard was shocked, this place was great, and it had a great lord, he looked down to Zent, "Very nice." he said.
----------------------------------------------------

Jacob looked at the blade once again, he didn't think it was cursed before, but after what it had done, was it true? He sighed, he looked up the sky, for a second he thought he saw a shadowing figure, but he let it go. He started to walk back to the cart.
----------------------------------------------------

Taz and Colt continued to lay on the ground in deep slumber, they were scratched and bruised, they continued resting until they were approached by two figures.

"A Blood Lyn, and a Shadowfoot?" said one, "This is unusual, they appear to be banged up bad, yet the don't look like they attacked each other."

"Now Trin, you think the worst in poeple" Said the other "They must have been attacked."

"Quen! This is an adult Blood Lyn and a Shadowfoot, they don't just get attacked, they get mobbed!" Trin said in a shout " What ever got them could finish us off in a second!"

"Now hush!" Quen said " He are good people, and so are they! we are taking them to Fort Majiro". Then Quen looked at Trin, scowled, and began to trag Taz, she signalled for Trin to take Colt, and with that, they walked back with the bodies.

OOS: There.

OOS: Thank you Leo. And Excell.. I didn't think that there was even the SLIGHTEST chance that he would be interested. Therefore, I decided to not even mention him. Now, if he ever FEELS like making a fiction entry, I will by all means enjoy having him participate.

I'll post in just a moment.

IS:

The next morning, a knock came upon Lord Render's chamber door as he was eating his daily breakfast. Frustrated as he was, Render took the napkin that he had tucked into his shirt collar, threw onto the bed beside him, and asked, quickly:

"Who is it?"

At this question, Jetter the servant entered his room at a steady pace.

"I apologize for disturbing you sir," Jetter replied, "but a man in the ball room would like to see you at once."

Lord Render sighed, and then nodded.

"Who is it?" he asked calmly.

Jetter cleared his throat before answering.

"A mister Alirick," the servant said.

Lord Render grew wide-eyed. Perhaps the pitiful head hunter had found something out about Jacob.

"Bring him in here at once, Jetter," said the Lord.

"Yes, milord," Jetter replied.

Lifting the metal breakfast tray from his lap, Render sat it on top of his writing desk, and stood so as to greet Alirick properly. The head hunter took his time coming down the hallway, and finally reached the chamber doors. Without even knocking, he stuck his head through the crack in the doors.

"Lord Render," he observed.

Render nodded, and Alirick proceeded to walk into the large bedroom.

"Nice place you have here," Alirick commented.

Render put on a fake smile, and nodded.

"Thank you," Lord Render said, outstretching his hand. "How are you?"

Alirick ignored the salutationary greeting, and went straight for the whiskey bottle. Lord Render had ordered a new supply of the enriched version of this beverage only two days before hand. Alirick quickly poured himself a drink, and went to sit down on a cushioned chair. Lord Render held his anger within himself, but almost lost it after seeing that Alirick's boots had left a track of dirt and mud along his newly-cleaned red carpet. Render squeezed his right hand into a fist, yet decided to keep cool about this terrible occurence. He smiled widely at Alirick, though the head hunter could tell that it was all an act.

"What brings you here?" Render asked him slowly.

Alirick grinned. He knew that Render was desperate to hear the information that the head hunter had obtained, and he would use this to his every advantage.

"First, I need my budgetry," the head hunter calmly said.

Render clinched the teeth within the smile. When Alirick said budgetry, he meant his money. This head hunter was cutting it close.

"Jetter!" Render called out in a low-pitched voice.

The servant Jetter seemed to appear out of nowhere, standing just outside of the entrance to his master's bedroom.

"Get me a bag of grey beans," the young Lord said.

Jetter smiled, nodded, and ran off towards the wine cellar.

"Beans?" Alirick asked, seeing that this Lord thought of silver seru as simple grey beans.

In a flash, Jetter had returned, holding a bag that required an entire hand in order to carry. Jetter handed it to Render, who then threw it to Alirick. Alirick smiled as he saw that more than 50 gold seru were in the bag. The assassin stuck the bag into his pocket, and began:

"Your young brother, Jacob I believe his name is, is still the holder of Lakis. However, he is now traveling with a wagon-partnership ran by a man by the name of Rodin. Including Jacob, there are seven men and one boy. But last night, Rodin encountered Jacob alone, and attempted to take Lakis from him. Yet, something happened that I couldn't truly make out. The sword seemed to cause Rodin's arm to go about being injured. It was like a defensive attack that the sword used automatically."

Render smiled, saying, "Brilliant." again and again.

Alirick continued.

"The wagon-train is headed for..Lord Zent's Fort Majiro."

Render grinned devilishly.

"Good," Lord Render replied. "This should be very good. I have an idea, Alirick."

Alirick snickered, and motioned for Render to elaborate on this 'idea' of his.

"Well," Lord Render said. "I want you to continue pursuing my brother. Go to Fort Majiro and wait. I will organize a small army to go and over take the Fort. That makeshift town won't stand a chance against my powerful soldiers. Yes, Greef and Rexton shall lead the army. Yes, that is good. Do not kill Jacob until after the strike has began. Then, in the chaos of the attack, slay Jacob and bring Lakis back to me."

Alirick grinned, and nodded his head.

"I shall do that," the bounty hunter said, and he quickly exited the room.

That Lord Render didn't know what he was truly getting into.

--------------

Greef and Rexton both sat in the barracks within the Uratha city walls. As quick as the Fligg strikes, a messanger boy came unto them, telling them to prepare the Uratha foot soldiers for a raid. They were astonished by the news. They had just been promoted.

OOS: Big post. Hahah. I like it a lot. One of my best entries yet.

NOTE: Don't kill off any characters.
NOTE: Don't have the Uratha army strike Fort Majiro yet. I will do that personally in one of my entries.
NOTE: Those of you helping write this fiction with me are awesome.
