Saddest Death?

I feel I shoulnd't just enter this conversation without saying something about the previous posts. So I think Slade wasn't in his right mind when he jumped, in a kind of delusional kind of way. He was convinced he couldn't help anyone, and when Kloe came near he just vocalised it, and ran away.

My saddest death would be Lexus. It shocked me and had me shocked for hours. I was sitting there while she was running, begging her to go the right way, begging her not to get killed. But then it happened.
I went to work shortly after watching this scene and couldn't get it out of my mind the whole shift. It really hit me.

Yeah, that's almost exactly how it happened. Down to the last dammit.

I got a reason why lexus's death wasn't the saddest! Before the mision to search the house of the old lady (lilah) she says:
"LADY: Honestly, life would be
a bit of a nightmare if you didn't
have someone who loved you."
"LADY: A mother, a father, a spouse.
Everyone needs someone."
"LADY: That's all that really matters
in the end."

and lexus says when she's about to die:
"Rhue....... sweet Rhue....... I had
hoped it would be this way......."
"Just not so soon........ you're a very........
special person........ Rhue."
"I wanted to see you once more........
just....... one........ last........ time."

Actually now that I think about what I just wrote I think she's kinda happy that rhue was with her when she died. I even think she wanted to die just so that rhue could be near her when she dies...

I thitnk Sorya is quite sane--evil, but sane. Lilah is quite reasonable also, despite having one of the best reasons to be unstable. Scatha also is clearly rational and sane, although her personality could hardly be considered normal. Even Cetsa is pretty sane, as evidenced by her rational analysis of her own evil tendencies.

And Rhan's girlfriend may have been the most sane of them all.

(For comparison, how many of the males seem to have it all together? Rhue? No. Gaius? No. Traziun? Initially, but probably no longer. Strata? Probably. Alan? Who knows?)

All women on The Way have severe attachment/detachment issues. (Lyrra and Landorin, Cetsa wants to be part of Rhue's life quite badly, Lexus wants to be Dancing Violet and therefore attaches herself to Rhue, Kloe loves Gaius/Ballard so much, she'd kill/be killed for their sake)

All men are relatively sane, but slightly sociopathic (Rhue is the prime example here, Trazuin is kind of sociopathic, but not very, Strata and Slade are sociopathic)

The entire Way is a sort of mental ward, eh?

Of course, I'm being very general. You're right that Sorya and other minor chicks are relatively sane, but also they're meant to be flat characters and therefore we aren't meant to know much about them.
