If you think about it, abortion is surprisingly simple. In extreme cases of rape, or where the mother's life is in danger, it's okay. The rest of the time, it's bad. I don't know why there's so fucking much discussion over it.

It's also murder if the mother could die. Murder of an actual person, not of an unborn, unthinking baby. Rape is a bit more controversial, but it depends on the situation.

How is it murder of a person? That would be like saying that having sex with a random person is murder because they might have AIDs. Killing a baby is killing a baby. Having a chance of dying from something isn't murder. They also don't have the intent on killing themselves when they have an abortion.

As for abortion. If they want to take the chance on breast cancer, that's their problem. If we ban abortion...what's next? Banning condoms?

No they are NOT banning civil unions just marriage (huge difference in american laws) Basically, marriage laws are made to reward couples for raising childern. And studies have shown you need both parents for best results (ie no psych scaring, tolerance of otheres, self esteem, ect) science actually favors marriage being in place.

Condoms willl never be banned (married people use them)

America was founded on religious issues. Almost all law is birthed from religion it may mature differently but is still birthed from a shared sytem of morals held by a majority or a dicatator/ king.

Laws are simply legislated morality. you can never seperate religion from lawmaking. Even the distinction to treat all people equally in america has a religious origen. any one who leaves theri religion at the door when entering politics has no business being there. (They'd be there for selfish reasons which results in corruption.)

All countries are based off religious laws and issues. It isn't just America.

Yes they are banning civil unions. The South will NOT recognize a civil union of two men or women from Massachucets if they would move to, lets say, Alabama.

You obviously don't understand what seperation of church and state is. Marriage is performed in a church by a priest. Civil union is a judge. According to American belief, you cannot have a government say anything about marriage yet. Marriage is on the law books right now. But if an amendment tries to ban gay marriage it will affect the church also.

in teh 20s we saved that for communist's, socialist, and catholics

Civil unions would have to be reconized (its just they would gratn right automatically the way marriage does)

It comes down to where you think life starts. does it start when teh sperm fertilizes teh egg, when teh cells begin to diferentiate, when the amnionic sac is punctured, when it takes it's first breath, when the head comes out?

the pro-life crowd smply believes life begins sooner than the pro-choice crowd. (and if they don't wan the babay there is a waiting list to get one)

And besides a high birth rate is neccessary for continued economic growth. Babies are good for the economy. Good for a mother's health (The abortion right activists don't mention the massive stress that an abortion puts on the female body making women vulrnable to all kinds of psychological illnesses or stress induced sickness.) and useful in war.

Mexico actually has reasons to invade teh US. Being in Texas I can't help but learn about them. and it is still in teh middel of civil war (a gurilla one but people are still dying from it)

Okay, I didn't mean murder when I said that, it was worded badly. I'm just saying, in extreme cases, abortion is necessary.

Ok. Say the mother doesn't have enough money to take care of the baby. what happens to the baby if no one wants to adopt. It goes right into a trash can. True, more babies do build the economy, but more babies thrown in trash cans left for dead, do not. I think abortion is ok, simply because it is a woman's right. Why should religious fanatics have a say in what OTHER PEOPLE DO WITH THEIR LIVES?

Excell wrote:what's next? Banning condoms?

Actually, there are lots of people intent on banning condoms already.

Christians are supposed to be the happiest people on earth, so sure, I'll happily keep thinking happy thoughts in hope of becoming happy, that way everyone has a chance of being happy, and we can all be happy. The word happy has now lost all meaning to me...

...happy...?
