I've started on a website design for a friends gaming community. The layout itself is only around 85% (hence some of the choppiness), but I figured feedback is welcomed from any source, especially those of you well versed in web design. Note that the right alignment is because the page was originally supposed to be best suited for around 800x600 resolution.

The little spritey guy at the left needs to be toned down a bit so that he blends in more. Otherwise it looks OOGLY. And no pop-ups.

That's not the actual site address, it's just a free hosting service I have to host the layout. And I plan on having regular links that brighter red color.

Looks good to me, the only thing that bugs me is the right alignment, but you've already explained that.

I don't care for the red and black approach just from a hypothetical standpoint since usually that is a combonation that my brothers punk shirts have on them (usually that retarded A with a circle around it).

It was more of a subconcious thing. I saw the webpage for about 5 seconds, not focusing my mind on the starcraft stuff, then I posted that. Now that I notice there are pics there, I am starting to believe in subliminal messages in commercials and stuff.
