Strangely enough, when I first saw that I was more concerned with whos blood that was than who Cocoa was
And the Lord said unto John, "Come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.

I was trying to steal everything in the room. I didn't notice words until right before I left.

"aw don't upgrade my weapons"
"why the hell don't i want my weapons upgraded?"

One more time for those who still haven't figured it out:

I created "The Way" after watching "Neon Genesis: Evangelion" and reading FLCL. I was attempting to emulate them to some extent with a story of adolescent sexuality disguised in farely obvious phallic imagery. What does that mean? Well first off it means "Serena" as she is called is a sort of idealized heterosexuality. It's clean, it's pure, it's what all red blooded American men should crave.

BOTTOM LINE: Serena is a representation of normal adult heterosexuality, this is what drives Rhue's quest.

Rhue however is a deviant. In "The Way" I use violence to represent sexual aggresion, Rhue came into possesion of his sword too young and in a fashion that is to traumatic to be able to effectively wield it. As you notice all through ep 1 Rhue approaches plunges very reluctantly, He is unsure of his sexual prowess and only through the coaching of older males is he able to make any progress.

BOTTOM LINE: Rhue gained his sexual awareness from two men, and continues to seek out males to further explore his sexuality.

The phantom slasher is a representation of Rhue's repressed sexual urges.
Although the phantom slasher has yet to attack Rhue's percieved self, he is being assimilated into Rhue's everyday personality as early as ep 2. As the game progresses into eps 7 and 8 you can expect Rhue to become more and more like the PS.

BOTTOME LINE: The PS is Rhue's id, unrestrained by the super-ego. This is why we only see the PS when Rhue is incapacitated, sleeping, or in other states of consciousness.

SIMPLY PUT: If Rhue finds Serena basically we are saying that Rhue achieves some sort of sexual normality, however if Rhue is unsuccessful in his quest he will likely be swallowed by his id, the PS.

I tried to keep it simple so the majority of the ham-n-eggers who read this forum could understand it. I understand that not all of you can afford Ivy league educations, but could you at least pick up a goddamn book every once in a while? This is the easy stuff, you should have moved past it by now.

One more time:

SERENA = HETERO
PS = RHUE'S ID
SWORD = RHUE'S SEXUALITY

Oh, so it turns out this myth is just a poorly constructed, transparent allegory for the awakening of adolescent sexuality?

I had laboured under the pretense that it was a beautiful fable, an ur-play acted out in the unlikely medium of the "game". But apparently it is the result of this bizarrely arrogant pseudo-intellectual fabricating a shallow symbolism that coincides with his post-Freudian views on sex. What intelligence do you attribute yourself for painting such a crude picture? These books you claim to read, surely they do not develop their characters through an empty, obvious two-dimensional symbolism? Surely they do not so loudly declare the personal and psychological shortcomings of their authors? Surely they are far deeper, have something to say and avoid simple interpretation?

This comes from a poster who, as a child, got very angry when someone told him that ultimately, the only thing people care about is sex. He then grew up and, on discovering this was the case, became all the more outraged.

But perhaps in working to make a sex-story you have unwittingly found yourself caught up in a far more important story by unintentionally listening to not the suppressed sexual overtones of your subconscious, but its soft, magical undertones that pop up in dreams from generation to generation.

Either that or you were trying to be ironic, confusing irony with... being deliberately confusing.

If so, I was too. Ahem.

Oh, and, on the topic of "goddamn book"s, for fuck's sake (literally) PLEASE read some Jung. It is such a shame that "Ivy league educations" refrain from bestowing upon their recipients a due sense of humility.

Because when we do, Cocoa pops out of his hole again and makes another one of these topics anyway.

Lun's probably gonna make a topic saying when it'll come out, and pull a Robert Jordan. I can imagine it now... "I can promise you. I will swear that Episode 6 will be out, available for download, on this site, just as soon as I finish."

I'm currently re-reading book 10. I'm trying to figure out who the Reborn Forsaken are and who killed _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. But I swear that Lun will do that. EVERY GAME MAKER SEEMS TO BE DOING THAT TO ME!!!

I found out that Cocoa is Lun's friend so if he's Lun's friend why is he doing this? =/

Well, there is a scret message in EP3 that says Cocoa sucks, and the credits usually make fun of Cocoa in some way I think, so I'm not exactly sure how much of a friend he is. Though its most likely an act.
