The betatesting will be a real pain (and really long), though.
Maybe Lun should give to every tester a save file to start with, so every tester is lead to different branches.

There were loads of beta testers last time, I actually don't expect it to be too hard to become one, although it would help to apply as soon as possible once you can.

It'll be on the main page, not in the forums, you can PM Lun or send him an e-mail when it happens.

I still remember E5, when I applied via PM, and the forums went down, so I thought I wasn't a beta tester even though so many other people with no more reason to get in than me were, and then suddenly I learnt I was in the second wave. I think Lun had actually forgotten to tell me, although I may be wrong. >_> And then I started typing really long sentences, to the point where they just went on and on, and couldn't possibly make sense anymore, because it was like one sentence for an entire paragraph, which was really long, and the sentences just kept going, a bit like this, and they were really long. <_<

yea, you don't have to do/have/be anything to be a betatester.
Last time I resisted til the seventh wave (when Lun asked on the forums for other betatesters), this time I'll just apply as soon as I can.

I have a question for everyone who has beta tested previous episodes of The Way: Do you think that inhibited your enjoyment of the game? How buggy can I expect the game to be when Lun starts beta testing?

I've already alpha tested the main fork and three side quests (last christmas, to give you all the scope of what is happening) There were some massive bugs that got fixed. Beta will come out when Lun believes he's found all game ending bugs and the speech is reasonably clean. The side quests (and there are lots including the coolest one yet (I'm not joking.. This side quest alone is worth the wait) should all be functional and most of the hitchcock style pre-leadings (the actual word escapes me) should be in. mostly it will be to catch minor bugs and fix spelling errors. In short you'd be playing just short of the final release... of course this one will probably take 3 major waves to ready for general download.

Oh, so this will be quicker than E5, at least. It's sounding like E6 is nearly finished, except for debugging... Or maybe you're just giving us false hope, and beta testing will be in 6 months.

I think it would be better to understand how rm2k works before you become a beta tester so you can help Lun out more. Like if you find a problem you can go in there and get a general fell about what is wrong so you can tell Lun were the problem is at and give Lun an easier job. You shouldn't become a beta tester to just play it before anyone else.

I'm kind of good with RM2K. I've learned from looking at the coding of games. Luckily, Lun will definitely fix any problems with the plunge/ huge sidequests. I've tried to study it (the plunge), but I keep getting headaches.

Actually, since I tested E5 (in which I found plenty of bugs and errors (some of which Lun actually ignored, so Chasta STILL needs to develope a personality, and Traziun STILL looks at Strata, but not because he's ugly), besides playing it early), I've been messing with RM2K and The Way a bit, so now if I get a giant evil nasty glitch like the one that forced me to restart E5, I actually know how to fix it for the time being. I'm too lazy to every be able to put it all together and make a game, but I can use RM2K now. When I'm playing a game I now often like to go and check out how something works in RM2K, although a lot of Lun's work (like the Plunge) is far too much for me.

And I'm impressed, that's one of the few intelligent (or even intelligible) things you've ever said. Wait, who are you, and what have you done with War?!
