First regarding question 6 about the nature of Rhue's sword. I have already answered that in a good bit of detail in a thread named damn near exactly that.

Secondly, for the first time in the history of this board, there has been a correct answer about something. BRAVO! It only took you 5 episodes to discover what it took 3 for me to to properly explain during the course of the game. For this amazing feet I'm awarding you the "Sky Is Blue" award, because you finally saw what is plainly aparent to anyone who doesn't have his head secured firmly up his rectum.

What I'm speaking about specifically is the fact that Rhue's sword now completely contains and expresses Rhue. I won't go into details, I've already explained it at least twice, (maybe 3 times, but that Jung loving douche needed it) But if you remember correctly Rhue's sword is a representation of his emerging sexuality. By ep 5 it has reached a state where it's corruption completely envelopes all other aspects of Rhue. Rhue has in essence become lost in his own perversions. He is an aspect of his perversions not vice-versa.

To put it simply, Rhue is like that Jung loving douche who stays up all night beating his hillariously undersized salami to pictures of horse-on-man, man-on-man, man-on-horse-on-midget-on-man BDSM action. YEAH YOU DOUCHE I'M TALKING TO YOU!

How could you have known that the sword had absorbed Rhue's consciousness in EP3 if it didn't even happen until EP4

I'm not 100% convinced that the sword absorbed Rhue's consciousness. I will say that it's a distinct possibilty, and that I'm sure that his sword is no ordinary piece of metal. One question, I don't remember how he got the sword back after it was stuck in Slade. Can anyone refresh my memory?

The PS took the sword out of Slade's body, and gave it back To Rhue while he was unconcious in the Blana Sera Temple area. Right sfter that he regains conciousness, which supports the therory.

How many people do you know can say confidently "My best friend is the Phantom Slasher"?

Rhues lucky for that....but not the other stuff....

Rhue was conscious without his sword in E2 and 3 (although his swordless behaviour in E2 was interesting), and momentarily in E5. We'll see, though...

There is clearly a difference between his status in episodes 2 & 3 and in episode 5. My best suggestion is still that the dividing line between these two periods comes in Jopaga's lab, when Rhue is supposed to have his soul sucked out; after that, only the sword's persona remains.

But when is he conscious in episode 5 without his weapon?

i see, so the sword can absorb auras and when rhue's soul is sucked out its captured by the sword.
The sword could have been trying to do that since he got it but only managed it on a few occasions where he was the ps. The japoga lab massacre does support the rhue = ps theory a whole lot

While this is a possibility, there is no real reason to think that the soul Jopaga sucked out of Rhue was absorbed by the sword. It seems more likely to me that both the sword and the body had "souls" at the beginning of the game, and they fought for control. After the incident in the lab, only one soul remains.

I think it was that brief instance when hes in the Blana Sera jail cell, were the PS breaks him out and then he gets his sword out of the chest next to the cell.

Ah yes. Ehrgeiz has already voiced my first thought about this point. Second, if Rhue really were the Phantom Slasher, then that scene would have to be taken "figuratively" somewhat. (However, I doubt this is the case, and it we can take scenes as not being strictly accurate in what they portray, there is the problem that we can't be sure anything we've seen actually happened!)

A third point, which I may have mentioned before, is that the black figure who helps him in episode 5 is not necessarily the Phantom Slasher. There are, after all, lots of other such character. This one doesn't show the typical Phantom Slasher bloodlust, so it could be somebody else entirely.

We don't know for sure that anything changed after Jopaga's lab. At the start of E3, Rhue is swordless and doesn't seem to be different at all. So what's going on pre-Jopaga?
