Lyrra and the Blue Scarves

Postby Berserker » Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:27 am

I don't think this has been discussed before:
in ep3, why did the Scarves take Lyrra?
They killed everyone who was with her, and it doesn't seem they had any reason not to kill her too...
Also, she's kept in the same tent of Cetsa, the leader of the scarves, and not in some prisoners tent.
I wonder if she and Cetsa knew each other before then.

I noticed that aswell but never thought very much about it. If they did know eachother then the chances of Cetsa being alive would increase by a lot (she doesn't really have anything to live for right now).

I had ment to say somthing about this when it occured to me too while plying through the game again. Must have forgot. The only thing I have come up with is that Jed never said that it was the Blue Scarves that killed them all, just that they took Lyrra. Maby somthing else killed them. Like the PS. IN the end of EP1 the PS seems to be getting ready to kill Lyrra's fist until Rhue wakes up. Maby it was able to finish the job this time. Possibly because of Lyrra's connection to the Landorin Massacre.

But why put her in the leader's tent? Wouldn't it be more effective to put her in the horny guy tent?

Coupla guesses here: Have you read As I Lay Dying? This girl screws with priest and (and this is in a 1st person POV, mind you) out of nowhere, she mentions that there was a whole bunch of blood everywhere...dunno why, but I thought the Priest was very vigorous ( that got a good laugh in class). My point was, keep the cargo fresh and nice-looking before you sell it.

another guess:horny guy tent is later. Lesbian Action tent is now.

Last guess: Protecting a same-gender victim who would otherwise be surrounded by men.

Cetsa might have had some use for Lyrra, and she found it safer to keep her in her own tent rather than someone elses.

Well, Lyrra is dead now anyway. So that sucks. I guess whatever reason Cetsa kept her alive and stuff is pointless now.

Why protect her?

Wow... Quite a few quotes within quotes... Anyway, I'm inclined to believe that Cetsa was telling the truth when she said she doesn't kill if she doesn't have to (and that she and the Blue Scarves killed Jed and Nomi). While Nomi was clearly seen as a threat (she's found dead with her sword in her hand) and so was Jed, probably, Lyrra sees herself as too much of a damsel in distress to even think of defending herself. Cetsa probably recognized this, but didn't think it was a good idea to let the girl just run free and get help. So, she detained Lyrra and, also not wanting any undue harm to come to her, decided to keep her from the males.

I'm not sure how plausible that is, really. However, Cetsa did simply tie Ballar up when she could easily have killed him back in Lide. Of course, that could easily be explained by 'Cetsa convinced Ballar she was going to do something rather kinky with him involving rope and a chair.' Cetsa, in that scenario, would have waltzed down to get the Shadow Sword, then waltzed back up to laugh at the Foreman's foolishness, had everything gone according to plan. That doesn't really explain Lyrra, though... Oh, well.

You're probably right. Unless my first theory was right and it, therefore, reinforces something about Cetsa's personality (again, only if my first theory is right), it probably isn't that important. Then again, there have probably been other scenes in the series that have seemed relatively unimportant, and actually seemed quite a bit more meaningful with some discussion. I guess we won't really know for sure until the games continue.

Lyrra being kidnapped and Jed's group being killed didnt happen exactly at the same time, unless Lyrra is more delusional than I'm thinking, or she was kidnapped THEN they were killed by the blue scarves (due to the fact she didnt know Jed and group were dead). I'd rather think Lyrra was kidnapped, then Jed and company were traveling to get her back when they were murdered by either blue scarves or the PS or some other crazy fool(s).
Lyrra is a survivor of the Landorin Massacre, a REAL for sure one since its not for certain Rhue is, anymore. Maybe Cetsa or Kygar also had a history with the massacre, and wanted Lyrra to get some kind of info out of her about it? Maybe theyre even after Jeruh, maybe for the same mystery reason as Midian, and needed whatever evidence they could dig up and any info that would possibly lead them to him.

for a moment there

Postby samlai » Tue Mar 08, 2005 4:31 am

i seriously did not think that it was the blue scarves killed them, tho theres this possiblity.
And think again where was Rosmar when the rest were killed? well Beats me. i didnt think of that since everyone presumed that he was killed by rhue by the accident that time round when they plunged.
Notice most of the ppl killed were those who once came into contact with rhue? yeps, since epid 1, the 1st 3 was killed and in the following, the other 3 (jeds group) whose next? o.0

Btw anyone knows which sword is the best? illuminati? pandamaare? hatassasar? or aionsluh? which sword will help and be with rhue the longest?

I didn't think about that. Maybe it's true that Cetsa wanted to kill only if she "had" to do it.

Blue Scarves have a boring live, so they'd rape any girl as soon as they had the chance.
