Theory about The PHANTOM SLASHER

Postby Fredric » Sat Feb 26, 2005 3:25 am

Before you read this you should check out this and this thread for some more info.

The Past: By some reason Midian, the Phantom Slasher, tried to kill Rhue. He succeded with this, but Rhue's aura was so strong that it left it's original body, pushed out Midian's aura from his body and used that body instead. Midian's aura, with nowhere to be, therefore hid itself in Rhue's sword (which is known to be able to absorb auras). Midian can still leave the sword whenever he wants to, at this times represented as a shadow of his original body, but seems to prefer to rest in Rhue's sword where he can help him all the time (ep.3 battle in the pits is a good example of this). Now the questition is WHY does he help Rhue all the time. Does he just want to protect his good-looking face or does he have some bigger plans for Rhue. We know he can control Rhue for brief amounts of time (ep.2 shadow sword)...

The Present:
First some dialog:
GAIUS: I don't get it... Rhue doesn't seem to remember me at all. Is it an act?

His aura is muddled...

Maybe he just wants to forget about that person... we killed. Actually, he gets most of the credit for that one I guess.

That's probably it.

If he really doesn't remember...

This is great.

But still, why does his name strike me as odd?
Wasn't that the name of...

... Maybe it's just a coincidence.

First out, the person they killed. There are two possibilities, Rhue himself or Traziun's mother. I believe it to be the second option and I'll only explain that one.
Midian and Gaius (the Phantom Slasher and the Perfect Blade) gets assigned to kill Traziun's mother as a test of their abilites. Midian who does the hard work becomes Kalmar's new secret agent. One day he gets an mission to assasin a person called Rhue or Jeruh. Midian mystically dissappears and Gaius becomes the new Perfect Blade instead.

The ending of ep.5 is also very interesting. Gaius claims that Rhue is the PS and desperately wants his sword. Either Gaius thinks that Rhue is the PS because of body or he knows that Midian's aura is inside the sword and therefore wants it...

The Future: With Traziun seeking revenge for his mothers death it seems like Rhue is going to need some assistance from his "close friend" Midian again. Maybe even Strata joins in in a 2 VS. 1 and the Slasher reveals himself to even the odds (that seems VERY unlikely though). Gaius also wants Rhue's sword but I doubt Midian would allow that to happen...

It's a very well formulated theory, but this has been discussed over and over and over. Jump in on one of the other threads about this and post it there. I'm sure you'll be more likely to get a response then.

Yah, you're probably right, but I guess it's to late for that now. :|

If I were to wager anything, I'd say that the 'Rhue' personality is nothing more than that. A mixture of minds comprised of Jeruh/Rhue/the PS. Jeruh acts as the super ego, Rhue as the ego, and the PS as the id. Midian remains a dormant force while Rhue and the PS control the shell. Perhaps Midian's sword has created such a split personality: Rhue is a manifestation of the Illuminati; and the PS a manifestation of the Shadow Sword. Due to how Rhue thinks, I'm given the impression that he doesn't even exist as a stand alone person, just a seperate personality. Perhaps Jeruh and Gaius killed Midian, allowing Rhue to gain his Aura. At this point, something must have happened (most likely the event in time at which Rhue was given his sword). At this point, Rhue's sword caused a schism in his personality rendering him pretty much insane. Anyhow, this is all speculation, so I'm not crediting it at all for accuracy.
