Rhue's sword takes over him and causes him to attack any shadow swords.

There is the many-times-offered theory that Traziun is the figure Rhue plunges in the pits, after whom his sword goes nuts if you lose. But it's definitely true that Rhue's sword doesn't always force him to attack the wielder of a shadow sword. But if that only happens if the sword is "active" somehow, why did he go after the sword in Lide? Did it become active merely because so many people were coming for it, covetously?
