If Serena doesn't exist, my therory was that Scatha knew Cetsa was lying and just said she knew Serena to make Cetsa tell the truth.

At first, I really thought that Scatha had known Serena before, but I've lately found myself agreeing with this theory of Scatha lying to Cetsa. Then again, Scatha knew Eyashu (who we still know next to nothing about, come to think of it) and Dirk (who we know only slightly more about, all things considered), so it's still a possibility that Scatha did know Serena. Of course, that only works if Serena exists as anything more than Rhue's vision of the incomplete, yet perfect, woman.

It's quite possible that Scatha (who may well have known whoever was in Rhue's body before him, based on her comments when she helps him from afar in the Pits) understands fairly well what is wrong with Rhue. It seems like a strong possibility to me that she did know somebody upon whom Rhue's memories of Serena are at least partially based. We know that there are some kernels of truth in what he thinks he knows, because he knew some details about the Landorin massacre. Scatha, who seems to be perhaps the best-connected person in the game (in spite of the fact she lives in the Pits--or maybe because of it?), could well have pieced together who Rhue was really talking about.

Its never really occured to me that Scatha might have figured out whats wrong with Rhue, but it does make sense, and sort of explains why she wanted to bring Rhue along when she and Dirk go after Tetzel.

well, it's natural - Scatha was in Jopagas lab and saw, what Rhue can do with his sword. she just want to have powerfull ally or afraid to have powerfull enemy.

Scatha and Dirk do seem to know a whole lot more about what's going on, particularly with Rhue, than anyone else (except perhaps Gaius). We don't know shit about Dirk, but Scatha really is an interesting mystery, after E5.

Lexus had brown hair. Also, Cetsa tells Rhue she dyed her hair if he says her hair doesn't match.

How could Scatha know Cetsa was lying for certain if no one else did? She noticed something the moment Cetsa claimed to be Serena. And when the two talked:

SCATHA: You aren't the girl Rhue
has been looking for.

She didn't say "you're not the girl, are you?". It was a simple statement. I think Dirk was there too, wasn't he? He wasn't suspicious. And they both seem to know each other from the distant past.

...I guess that doesn't necessarily mean they'll both share the same knowledge. Maybe I'm just being stupid... Or want Serena to exist because else the episodes of Rhue searching for her seems to lose some meaning.

Dirk wasn't there, he was with Rhue, adn Scatha could have known she was lying because she knows Cetsa well enough to know that she is lying, or it could be because its plain obvious, you can tell shes lying, why can't Scatha?

Here's the first part of that conversation.

Scatha: You aren't the girl Rhue has been looking for.
Cetsa: Yes I am!\.\. Don't you dare try to stir up trouble!
Scatha: Eshk,\.\. the truth is alwaysss troublesssome for liarsss.
Cetsa: How dare you\..\..\..\.\. what gives you the right to...
Scatha: I KNEW the girl that Rhue isss sssearching for!
Cetsa: ...

Up until Scatha's declaration that she knew Serena, Cetsa could simply deny it, since she had no reason to think Scatha had any proof that she wasn't Serena. After Scatha says what she says, there's not really anything that Cetsa can say to it. It comes totally out of the blue, and even a skilled prevaricator like Cetsa can't help but let her surprise show.

I've got a theory about Serena, and the Landorin massacre.


I don't remember who gave details about the Landorin massacre, but I remember many important things said.
Rhue remembers that night. Wolves (?) attacked and killed everyone. But, that one who gave details later on about the massacre stated there was no evidence at all for any kind of animals in the place, not even wolves. The bodies were gone, the only thing left is blood. And somehow

Rhue manages to live somehow, just to go after Serena and see those 2 men with the sword.
That makes no freaking sense at all. I've got a feeling Rhue was the KILLER during that massacre. He found his Shadow Sword, which he could not control and it made him kill everyone, including his beloved Serena. Do not forget Cetsa found the Pendent covered with blood.


If you play through the episodes again you'll see this makes much sense, yet not completely, like the rest of the storyline in this game.

remember those pictures that Rhue saw after being injected w/ the .. um... formula in Jopaga's lab? If you have rm2k, go to raw material settings and export those pictures.

Someone mentioned before taht there are some really disturbing images, one of which seems to be the Landorin Massacre--well, it involves a person falling in the river-- but it also shows someone's head getting cut off by someone else , and another person is screaming while seeing this.

There are several other pictures; I think one is of a person by a river and someone in it (It was heavily textured; I played around with it a bit in Photoshop but couldn't "de-texture" it -__-') and another with tents and people waving to a person in a distance.

Wow, that's definetly an eye opener. Espically reading through the whole topic, I got alot of thoughts on The Way now.

Are there any other pictures showing hidden messages? I read once that in The Pits in E3 there is alot of messages throughout the maps. I tried to find them but to no avail.
