Well... you make a good point. I think I'm going to go do something now... like bathe in my own stupidity(I know someone is going to say, "I hope you drown!").

It'd be pretty hard to start a fire in a bathtub full of water...

Then that time would have to be below a few weeks if the "Midian-kills-Rhue-becomes-Rhue" theory holds true. If so, then why doesn't Rhue have any recollection of himself being killed only after a few weeks?

Maybe Midian's memory overides Rhue's in that case, but I seriously doubt it. After all, Rhue's memory was stronger in all other cases... and a memory of being killed should be far more emotional/stronger than one of killing someone.

True, but the mind is still a fairly mysterious thing, especially when the concept of multiple minds inhabiting a single body comes into play. However, perhaps his (Rhue's) own death was so traumatic that his mind is repressing that memory. Since watching the girl he loved get knocked into a river by a great beast would also probably be a tad on the traumatic side, under the memory repression theory, he retains that memory because it has a silver lining: she might have survived.*
Or perhaps he just has amnesia, to one extent or another. At this point, I'm not sure we can know for sure.

* If somebody is actually knowledgable about how memory repression works, please let me know if I've misunderstood how it works.

Oh I don't think Bill needs Gasoline to start fires... he seems to set them where ever he treads... (if he's one of those devils with legs) in fact... I think he's on fire right now.

As far as I see it, Midian and Rhue are different people.

Here's Why:
When Rhue goese to Estrana in Episode 5, he meets Midian. If you look carefully, you can tell that Rhue and Midian are both semi-transparent, and everyone else is opaque, which is why I also think that that version of Estrana exists on the upper way... But I'm probably wrong.

Well, I also have a theory on dream Estrana. This is a view many people haven't taken. I think you guys are reading too much into it, and dream Estrana is just Rhue witnissing something that happened in the past(like when he saw the scene with Slade, Scatha/Chasta, and their mother.

But if it was just a memory from the past, Estrana wouldn't still be on fire and have big holes everywere.

Good point, I guess you really can't be sure until Ep. 6.

And Jed wouldn't know Rhue and tell him about Lyrra.

I just checked, Midian isn't transparent, just Rhue.

This is quite inconsistent with the observed evidence. The scenes he saw of Slade and Chasta were Slade's memories, observed because Rhue's sword was embedding the shadow foot's body. The scenes of Dream Estrana are markedly different. First and foremost, the other individuals present acknowledge Rhue's presence, which doesn't make any sense, given that this is supposed to be a past happening he is merely observing. Also, the people in the phantom city do give clear indications that they are deceased in their dialogue. In a real memory, the dead do not speak.

Clear indications...? When? oO

I've thought about it... but if it happened only a few weeks ago (Rhue's death), then even if he'd forgotten about it, wouldn't he at least remember something of a black out? After all, the last time Rhue's aura was separated from his body (in Jopaga's lab), he had that dream and remembers it clearly.

Besides, if he's in Midian's body, then when he looks into a mirror, shouldn't he do something more than saying "I don't like mirrors, they lie to me", something like... "I DON'T RECOGNIZE MY FACE!", but he doesn't. His reaction is much more subdued, so he was probably used to not liking mirrors. A new body would take more than a few weeks to get used to.

Anyway, has anyone else noticed Kloe, Cetsa, and Dirk in dream Estrana? They're at the bottom right corner, but I don't think you can see it from the game, only in rm2k.

*Edit*
Sage of the Wise wrote:I just checked, Midian isn't transparent, just Rhue.

Midian is transparent when he talks to Jed, who is also transparent... so I guess the transparency doesn't really matter, since Jed's dead, Rhue's alive, and they're both trasnparent...[/quote]
