IIRC, no, the Phantom Slasher and Gaius was never seen together at the same time, and thus is one of the reason why we suspect Gaius is the Phantom Slasher.

Huh... Gaius being the Phantom Slasher would make some things make a bit more sense. For instance, in Lide, Gaius is having an internal monologue outside of the inn. Then, there's a strange sound and he turns suddenly, saying, "Duty calls." Perhaps that noise was the Phantom Slasher persona taking over for the night.

And, the ps is not divine justice, he's not a tool of Tetzel, and he does not attack ppl because they don't belive in the Purpose, nor that they're not innocent? And it does not have anything to do with the presence of a fire, or their personality;
the ps is not a separate aura of Rhue, and Rhue did not get killed by Midian and became Midian?

So basically, fwacho said the ideas we posted were all based on one type of reasoning, which is wrong. Didn't he also say at one point that 80% of the theories were right? If I'm not over-analyzing, then if we subtract the ones we had here from all the other theories, we might get part of that 80%...

Uh, If I read it right he's saying that once we get a line of thought we like, we tend to take that line and bend it to make it fit the plot, instead of continuing to juggle theories. He didn't say it was wrong.
