Yeah, apart from the obvious one at the top of the screen that nobody can read because it's been shrunk, there are three others in three corners, they say "Where is your hope?" and "Death has lost its sting" and the third one says "Help Me I'm afraid". Peculiar right!?

The end of that thread made me think of some sort of an "alternate ending" I found in rm2k to E5. It's under "chests", a map named "the end of the way?". I put the party starting point right there, and interestingly, in this version of the ending, Rhue is surprised that he is a murderer, Strata comes in and accuses him, followed directly by Traziun who says "there you are." And then the game ends.

It went something like this:
Rhue: Then I guess I'll be on my way.
Gaius: Sorry,\.\. but that won't be possible.
Why is that?
I've had to reconsider your
existence on the Way.
I'm afraid I've realized that you
can't be allowed to continue in
your current state.
Current state?\.\. What are you
talking about?!
Just drop your sword and back
away.\.\. That's all you need to
do.
What?!
It's a Shadow Sword.\.\. It will
destroy you.\.\. If you like,\.\. you
can just hand it over to me.
Why would you want it then?!
I want to help you,\.\. Rhue.
I don't trust you...\.\. How could
giving you my sword help anyone?

(blah blah blah)

Don't you know who you are?
I'm Rhue of Landorin!

(here strata comes in and says)
You murdered Lyrra!

Gaius: Listen to him Rhue,\.\. you're
a murderer!\.\. Give me your
sword and let me help you!

(here Rhue looks shocked) I'm a murderer?
(and then... Traziun comes) There you are\..\..\..

How could he not. the pictograms will help make sense of a lot of the plot. I was helping with the plot and I even got lost a couple times.

On a side note I think Traziun kills the one who killed his mother in E6 but I'm not sure. there is so much going on in E6 itshard to keep it all straight

Well, since Traziun can't kill Rhue, and assuming that he was referring to the person who killed his mother when he said "there you are", the possibilities left are Gaius and Strata.

Anyway, that's probably not the case and most likely has been mentioned before, but I find it interesting nevertheless.

He can still try.

Also, you shouldn't base any theories on the alternate ending because its not actually in the game. Lun could have made it, then later changed the story and couldn't use it anymore.

I wouldn't really call what I said a theory...

But anyway, the ending seemed more like... well, if anyone here's seriously written fiction, you know you have to go back and edit and re-edit for at least several times before you can get it just right. I mean "seriously written" as in more than 200 pages. Sometimes you have to delete and add parts to increase tension building up to the climax or the cliff-hanger, in this case.

That ending seemed like the original ending, but simply discarded because of the possibility of a better one. Notice that the dialogues are around the same. Strata and Traziun comming in at the end seems to wear the shock off Gaius' revelation of Rhue=ps.

Besides, if Lun had the entire plot planned, would he change something as important (assuming that it is) as who killed Traziun's mother? Traziun's been seeking revenge on that person since E1.

On a side note I think Traziun kills the one who killed his mother in E6

I thought of another thing that happend back then at E1. The first meeting between Gaius and Rhue maybe wasn't a coincidence. I doubt Gaius is that weak to get disabled so easily by that monster. At E5 he seems quite powerful.
