Who is 'him'

Postby nerx » Mon Apr 11, 2005 2:16 am

In episode 3 Scatha says something along the lines of:
"I wonder if it's really him... but something is different about him, besides the name" Gaius also says something like this I think, but most people pay attention to the "person we killed"

It sounds like Rhue is somehow well known, and if the aura switching theory is true, maybe the 'true' owner of Rhue's body was famous? We all think the aura switching theory has a lot of basis, since Gaius is quite evidently a senser, and can pick up on peoples' auras. Does anyone think Rhue being afraid of mirrors has anything to do with this? Or maybe he sees the Phantom Slasher when he looks in one?

So does anyone have some leads towards why Rhue, or at least his body is known across the way? I bet the first thing Gaius will do in e6 is look in to Rhue's mind anyway so :P...

Edit: I know this has been discussed but, why is it that Gaius "reconsider" Rhue's existance on the way when Rhue noticed the end of the way was Landorian[sorry I can't spell it :P]? If people do see different things there, why? and what does Gaius see.. Maybe the stretch shows a wanderers calling in the world [Rhue only wants to find Serena]

The way Gaius says that, it seems to give further evidence that he is the quill of sermot and eve.. [Well, I think it does anyway :? ]
So lets discuss before the answers are revealed!

Because nobody has ever before discussed to death one of the biggest things in the story, which was also revealed years ago. But then, I guess something that happened years ago is equally vital as something that happens now, right Strayed?

i wondered about that too... apparently Gaius is in a position to consider someone's "existance" on the way... and that would have to be a pretty powerful position (well, I think so anyway). unfortunately I can't come up with a good theory on what that might be that has not been said already. :?

I can't ask questions like these. Throughout the game so far you get stuff like.

"He has changed so much, but he doesn't recognize me"
"Could it be...HIM?"

Gotta let these things unfold themselves.

You asked for one god damn reason, I gave you one. The other is that you're an asshole. Deal with it and shut up.

Thats a good theory. Gaius is the books of sermeot and eve.

Whats even better is that Rhue, Scatha, Dirk and Gaius are all going to go to Tetzel to get these books. So when they find Tetzel, Gaius will be there.

Good thinking...

He wouldn't be the book itself, but the quill that writes them. See my first post: http://www.crestfallen.us/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=486

Looking at Amgard's post at the end of that link made me look at what Dirk talks about those two books. Here is something to read:

DIRK: He has a quill,\.\. Rhue.\.\.
Whenever someone is born,\.\.
the quill writes their name and
the day of their birth in a book.

DIRK: This book is called the
Book of Eve.

DIRK: And whenever someone
croaks,\.\. er,\.\. dies,\.\. it writes
their name and the date of their
demise in another book,\.\. heh.

DIRK: This book is called the
Book of Sermeot,\.\. heh.

Notice how Dirk conveys the message that there are two books but one quill. Also notice that he never says "Tetzel writes their name" but rather "the quill writes their name". This could in a way support DSOK's theory, but how do we know Gaius sees people born?

I think Gaius is the pourpose. Of course I know it's just stupid but.. heh. Heh. Heh. You know I say heh a lot. Maybe I should become a forerunner too..

[See Lun? see?]

ok.. well it was worth a try :?

HEH

Heh, I'm not trying to spam but I really do think Gaius is the pourpse and thats why he knows all this..
I mean.. hes a senser, he seems to know everything, he seems to be playing both religions yet still making no violent moves at all - is that the usual behaviour of a double crosser? :? Plus he seems so enlightened all the time, his character has a way of making you think.. wow.

Maybe he is Lun's digital incarnate? Heh.
