Although I've never gotten far into writing novels due to my English grammar issues (they're good, but not good enough for a novel) I can give you advice regarding the cave part...
I suggest describing only these parts:
Entering the cave:
This sets the mood. How does Rhue feel when entering the cave? What are the things he notices first, things that stand out. You don't have to stick to the game here, in my opinion.
Passageways:
By describing in a few lines how Rhue and Traziun make their way through some passageways you can emulate the dungeon travelling. Not every nook and corner need to be described.
Puzzle:
If you really want it in (I'd just leave it out), you could make Traziun say something about people building bridges in often traversed caves and that they have switches to operate them to keep monsters from spreading too far. I know that's not in the game, but random puzzles in caves aren't very logical either...
------------
There, I hope that was at least a little helpful.
By the way, you'll be glad to hear that I'll be recording videos for all episodes in the coming weeks. I just need Lun to send me savegames with maxed out characters to make the process a whole lot easier.
Good luck!
