I couldn't even finish watching that, it was so boring.

So you were joking? I hope you were, because that trailer is really, really, really, super ultra mega hyper lame.

Never mind. that was lame beyond words that could describe.

There's better acting and more action and drama in an episode of teletubbies.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio show, which was written and aired before the first book, was written in 1977 and aired in 1978, so it is not in fact older than Star Wars. However, it is nothing like Star Wars. The movie is based on a script that was actually not written by Douglas Adams (the writer of the book and radio show and BBC miniseries). Apparently Adams' scripts were never very good, I guess he was getting on in years. It more or less took his death to get this movie made. But supposedly the script is amazing, and universally praised by all involved.

The BBC miniserious mostly suffers from direction problems and special effects, in my opinion. It's still wonderful. And although I agree that the narration is the funniest and most clever part, the new movie DOES have narration. It is narrated by Steven Fry, a famous British comedic actor. If you're British, you probably know who he is. He was the narrator in the theatrical trailor, if you saw that.

Sin City was the singularly most impressive movie to come out in years, and everyone should see it. You might not like it, but years from now, once the digital movie becomes standard, and directors can make a movie look like whatever they want, people are going to point back to the first movie to do that successfully.

There was also a TV show based off of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy called Dr. Who. It was very low budget.
<WarV> You know what this place needs?
<Strayed> hookers?
<@Jeramyu> boobs?
<WarV> How about hookers WITH boobs!
<Strayed> I don't like fat guys.

Dr. Who? Dr. Who precedes Hitchhiker's by almost two decades.

Actually Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was the first digital movie. Sin City was the 2nd.

TEEHEE!!

Him and 3 million screaming girls. Probably more.

I'll probably end up seeing HHGTTG, but not in theaters. I just don't feel like movies much. I'll rent it sometime in 6 months.

Do not watch the TV series to HitchHikers Guide. It's very very very retro. And by retro I mean low-cost production-esque. But hey, it was from the 70's....and yet, I still watched it.

Bill Paxton wasn't in the Navy SEALs movie.
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)
