Who says that you need to be so profound? Lets just look at this the easy, straightforward way. Either it must end in a fight with the PS, rhue's self, or his sword itself. Those are my theories at least.

You're limiting things quite a bit, aren't you? The game doesn't even have to end with a fight. Lun wrote the story, not you, so don't go around saying how the game MUST END in the way you think it will.
