I actually really enjoyed episode 3. I went with two of my friends; we watched the movie in a cinema full of ecstatic and charismatic people. Cheers erupted at the epic points, the funny points -- people even cried during the sad bits. The atmosphere really improved the enjoyability factor. I really like episode 3 -- I loved the plot -- I could literally feel Anakin's purity overwhelmed by impossible decisions and ultimate darkness. The plot was fantastic. Now I'm not a huge star wars fan, I didn't particularly like episodes 1 and 2, but they had to lead up to the story. They had to set the background of the entire series. How would you have done it? I'll bet good-ol Lucas did it better than anybody else could have.
All in all, episode three rocked. If you haven't seen it already -- please do so.

Yeah, I noticed that. Everything's too smooth and shiny, in contrast to the grittier, more realistic feel of everything in the original films. The new ones are too pretty to be cool.

But then, I haven't seen Ep 3 yet. *shrugs*

The Naboo type ships go away and you begin to see the future X-Wing and Tie fighter in E3.

Well, there's always the possibility of Lucas trying for more money grubbing with star wars spinoff plots or something *shrug*

But after seeing ep3, I can probably safely say that I'm just glad I don't have to give Lucas any more of my money. ... er.... cept for the games >.>

Worst thing ever: The fucker named the babies....which KILLs and totally SPOILS the best scene ever in Empire Strikes Back....if you don't know what i'm talking about, go sit on a lightsaber and call yourself a popsickle.

Well dudes think about it. What plot is being spoilled? Everyone already know it. He is not trying to make a set up for the next three movies he was just telling what happened before hand.

Which are far more technologically advanced than the ones in the original films. I want to kill George Lucas.

It's all about eye-candy and super duper effects and COOL looking ships. And how many fucked up craft are there in the new films? In the old ones, the amount of craft was limited and they made sense, now in the new one, they all have super tricks, and are downright retarded.

I dunno, I think that most things that are more technologically advanced in the first three films (Episode 1 - 3) are mostly there to illustrate the "golden age", though to also look good, which they don't. But things like ships and stuff, it's just stupid, I presume this is how George Lucas wanted to make the original films back then but he had neither the money or the technology. Thing is, if they re-made the originals all crappy like the new ones (If they do, I will personally kill them), they would suck, and if they were orginally like that, I bet I wouldn't like them half as much because in the originals they used models, which are so much better than the graphics.

Ian McDiarmid is a riot as the Emperor. He gets that insanity thing just right.
And Kimmy Smits is a half Hispanic Badass in that movie. Go Bail!
Daedalus-he who sees by fire.
And so one day I will be gone, and all that will remain will be my love.

I hate it when people go "If George Lucas does [...] I will kill him!" or whatever. It's his fucking story, not yours, so HE knows what the story should be like, not YOU. Man, this always irritates me to no end, when people like SOMEONE ELSE's story and then act as if it is some sort of holy thing that is their property or something. If you don't like what an author does to HIS OWN story, don't think you are the one who knows what the story SHOULD have been like, because, since you didn't create the story, you don't know anything.

Take it or leave it, because nobody is interested in your interpretation of what you think the story should have been like.

When most people agree with you it does matter.

EDIT: Also, if nobody likes it, George Lucas loses money, but he has loads anyway.

Well, it's a little different because he is now pretty much using it to make money with (like any smart guy would), but it is still his story. Even if the entire world agrees with you when something he did was not to your liking, it's still something he did because it's his own view on his own story.

Question is, does Lucas make this movie so he himself can smile at it or does he do it to leave a legacy behind him? A crappy movie will not make a legacy, unless it's so bad that everyone fears it and stuff :P

Wow, I can't believe you actually expected something different out of this movie. The fact of the matter is, it's probably extremely difficult to top Episodes 4-6.
