Strata: You selling your rabbit?

Rhue: No, he's not for sale.

Strata: Good, good.

Rhue: What?

Strata: Because I'm not buying. *Attack*

Strata DOES ask to buy the rabbit before he attacks. Now, I interpret it as Strata trying to get the rabbit legitly first but trying to preserve his pride when Rhue refuses. He can either just walk away rabbitless or use force. Strata's got a huge ego, so to preserve his dignity and not look like he got scared, he fights.

.......he says it's good that Rhues not selling because he's not buying.

Key word: not
Maybe if you know your true love is about to move away to college or something, you can stick this shit in the stereo and make the moment last while at the same time listening to pussies whine about bitch shit. Just like you.

Yeah, but afterward. He's thinking on his feet. He doesn't have this whole clever dialogue thing planned out in advance. At least, that's how I interpret it. You can say he had no intention of buying the switchfoot, and I can't prove you wrong. But I can say he did intend to buy the switchfoot if Rhue would've sold it, and you can't prove me wrong.

Why the hell would Strata have wanted to buy the Swiftfoot when he could just steal it? And I HIGHLY doubt Lun would somehow convey a totally different message without knowing - Strata isn't a person, he's just a character. A character who happens to be a lying, thieving, arrogant ass. He had no intention of paying for the Swiftfoot.

This is how I saw it:
Rhue catches the Swiftfoot.
Strata forcibly asked Rhue if it is for sale, knowing that he (Strata) was going to steal it anyway.
And then this:
"Strata: Because I'm not buying. *Attack*"
Bang. Strata had no intention of buying. He knew what he was up against; he knew that he would win.
Strata knew what he was doing. Yes, I cannot disagree that he asked to buy the Swiftfoot...
-- but --
...he had no intention of buying. It's a form of an 'Invitation to treat." A rhetorical question.

I just played episode 1 a couple of hours ago and the quote I just put in is as close as it gets to what conspired.

What on earth are you guys going on about? You're all saying he said good, good because he had no intention of buying it anyway, which I don't think he did.. anyway, we know he's a thieving, murderous smart-ass, so let's just think about his future role in the story.

As I said before, I think he may still cause some problems for Rhue, but, the way that Rhue left him at the end of episode 5 made it highly unlikely for this sort of thing. Unless he does indeed obtain some incredable power, which I doubt, he may be gone. But I doubt Lun is ready to put him aside just yet.. what do you guys think? If you didn't attack him at the end, he may become one of the wolves.. that is if the way does indeed repeat itself.. Ramodeus, I agree with you, Strata is ready to kill Rhue, but would he really do it now? Maybe he will just lie down and die? Maybe Traziun will walk by on his way to Rhue and Gaius and just finish him off? It's hard to figure out just now..

I think Rhue not only defeated Strata, but also destroyed his pride...But what if you didn't fight Strata? Maybe the outcome is the same either way... Lets play it and find out shall we? :D

I try to reform the topic and it lasts for one post :|
Well, is he out or not!? I think people who are likely to kill him if he trys anything funny are:
Rhue, Traziun, Gaius.
Maybe he will only actually die if you decided not to plunge him?

...

Characters are people too!

Anyway, if Rhue became "The Villain" in The Way for a while and the game's viewpoint shifted to everyone trying to kill him, Strata would make an excellent addition to the party.

But that's just a shot in the dark.

I'm impressed that someone of your brain mass actually managed to come up with a concept so out of your league, i suspect some form of foul play.

Yes the symbolisation known as "strata" is in loose terms the sybolisation known as "Serena" but in the sence that strata sybolises the representation of the feelings Rhue has concerning her. You see it was Serena (or rhue's first sexual encounter) that gave him curiosity into deeper acts of sexual desire and made him question his sexuality. Later when his feelings for Serena are replaced by Strata he continued to oppress his feelings and force him into different avenues of thinking and possibilities as i have mentioned before by taking "dippy" that as we all know is another symbol to do with rhue's sexual prowess.
It is only later in the series after countless other acts of deviance on the part of strata that Rhue finally manages to "defeat" or as in the origional overcome his obsession. The Plunge at the end of 5 represented the moment when he had his last sexual encounter with her and realised that he felt nothing for her anymore and that he could finally let go (which i had been leading up to as we see this violent change in his personality towards the end). In episode six we will see much more of this as despite Strata's continuing efforts to take control of rhue again he continues to elude him symbolising the moral struggle that rhue would have been feeling at this point after treating his past so badly simply because he realised he had overcome his old desires and found the begginings of his own individuality at last.

that was my impression of cocoa whadd'ya think?
