On the specific question of whether or not capitalism is good, Thomas Sowell probably put it best: "Saying that capitalism is devoid of moral prinicples is like saying that calculus is deficient in essential vitamins." The point is that most things are neither good nor evil.

thats a good point, i don't like to define things with good or evil.

for example i dont think Strata is evil i just think think he is selfish, an egomaniac and with very few morals.

hmmm...i think i just described several members of this board...

Everyone seems to be trying to figure out if Gaius is good or evil. What about Rhue? We've seem him do alot more questionable things then we've seen Gaius do, and just because hes the main character doesn't meen all his actions are justified.

With Rhue, determining good or evil is very difficult. When there is mind-affecting magic floating around, things get very tough. The very nature of Rhue's consciousness has clearly been modified by eldritch means. Those means do not exist in our real world, so no modern system of morality is equipped to deal with them.

Making moral judgements about Strata, Slade, or Cetsa is simple. With characters such as Rhue or Scatha, for whom elements utterly foreign to the real human condition have had profound influences on their lives, things are much trickier.

I think Rhue can be classified as more of a neutral or slight good. He's fighting for himself and only himself, and when people walk over him, he fights back. He's kind of like an animal. Sure he does some evil things, but every one of them has a cause, and actions alone don't make a person evil.

His association with people is simple: he's not out to profit at their expense, nor is he out to save them from all wrongdoing. He simply doesn't care. All he wants to do is survive and find Serena. Of course, that doesn't stop him from making a number of allies along the way, most of which he actually does care about.

I've never really thought about it before, but Scatha is a lot like Rhue in that sense, only different somehow. It's hard to place though.

Of course, by now we know there's something about Rhue that we don't fully understand, and chances are that something (ie his past identity) will have a definite good or evil spin on it, most likely evil, that Rhue will have to deal with.

I think Rhue could go either way depending on the decisions we make in the game. That would actually be really cool if Lun made the ending to the series according to if we wanted to help someone or agreed on looking for a missing individual.

Thats oddly specific... But I think I remember Fwacho saying somthing about there being multiple endings awhile ago.

I believe there are currently 3 possible endings at present based on some factors you can't even imagine. (the "real" ending would need some creative game play.)

Fwacho is a fucking asshole. And we wouldn't need creative gameplay; we'd only need creative use of RM2K to work out the exact variables and switches.

I think it would be hilarious if, right before the final scene, if your character has perfect max stats (OBVIOUSLY from the walkthrough and thus cheating), an explosion comes from nowhere and causes instant death for Rhue and all the other characters, ending the story. It would also corrupt all your save files for each episode that have passed on to that one, somehow making it impossible to progress unless you start again from Episode 1.

Or this could be what the Rhue Points are for... or whatever the variable is called. Because as far as I can tell, there's no real use for them in the game as of yet... maybe they could determine what Rhue does when the end finally arrives, changing the ending that way?

I somehow doubt it'll be that simple... You just know that Lun will come up with some fiendishly complex methods of determining the endings.
