The Truth about PS...

I'm new here, and I'll admit i didn't completely read through the thread to see if someone posted something similar but.....

Going by sprites alone the PS's face looks exactly like somebody just covered over Gaius with black. Obviously. I'm not stupid enough to think I'm the first person who has realized this.

But to tell you the truth, it would make sense if Gauis was the PS. Gaius was seen with all the Tetzel loyalists when they were in Estrana investigating the Sacrificia incident, Gaius and the PS have never been seen together (I'm pretty sure) and in the first episode Gaius disappears from the campfire. Then Rosmar is like "he obviously left of his own accord". Later that night Rhue sees the PS. Also, several times the PS seems to be almost concerned for Rhue, like helping him out. He broke him out of jail and also gave him Illuminati Pandamaare and all that mess. In the tournament when Rhue loses to Strata, a message with Gaius' face and "..." pops up, almost as if Gaius is concerned.

Also, logically, if Gaius was the PS himself, wouldn't it be smart to tell Rhue HE was the PS to take attention from himself? For example, if any of you watch the 4400, the mass murderer guy would use his power to tell people they were the serial killer, and they would beleive it and becoem serial killers...........ok bad example. But you get what I'm saying?

Then again, Lun might have made all this "suspiciously" Gaius stuff just so you would think it was Gaius, and then be suprised when Gaius tells you it is Rhue..........

Who knows?

But if it is Gaius, it wouldn't be the first obvious "secret". ex. Red Zero was Lexus, Kloe was the one who killed Foreman, etc.

Again, somebody may have said something similar to this and i didn't see it because I'm new.

The one problem with the sprites thing is that in the gameplay it doesn't say "PHANTOM SLASHER: ..." like it would normally say "RHUE: ...", so if you're going strictly by the character's sprites and facesets, then you're just guessing, because various characters have been shadowed and not been the PS, they were just being sneaky. Just because Gaius was a shadow sneaking around Rhue's camp with his sword probably means he was about to do something to Rhue, but snuck off... it doesn't necessarily mean it was the PS. Like Scatha? When she was introduced, she was a shadow running around, and people would be like "She's a shadow! She's the PS!" The only way to figure out exactly who the PS is is if Lun named some of the events or character sets in the RPG Maker as "Phantom Slasher". He named a few in the character sets, but that doesn't mean it is them... Scatha's original spriteset shows her without her mask, but it was never used... could be the same case.

This one has been quite popular recently, its seems that it is just Lun messing with our minds.

But Lun might have known that we would figure that out so he purposely made Gaius look like the PS so we'd never suspect that he actually is, but then he Lun new we'd se through that too and....

yes, i realize there is more than one shadow sprite, but you are forgetting something. each sprite is mildly different. deifferent enough to know the difference between the others. at certain parts after what was obviously the phantom slasher killed people, it would show a faceset (my avatar)and "........". this faceset was obviously ascociated (cant spell) with the phantom slasher because it appeared directly after the attack. this face happens to be exactly like gaius'. the only other "shadowy" sprites were obiously not the phantom slasher. either were monsters or were later revealed to be sneaking characters. it is easy to tell the difference between the phantom slasher shadow and the scatha shadow, because of scatha's hair. the cetsa and kygar shadows were a pair, and obviously not the phantom slasher, etc.

what i am trying to say is all the other shadows were revealed except for one. that one is the phantom slasher (obviously) and that one happens to have a face that looks like gaius. conincidence? probably. but it is a possibility.

You shouldn't be guessing based on facesets in the first place, I still say it's serena But im new here and i don't even know if the phantam slasher is a character we know about or a whole new character.

Going off-topic from Gaius... in Episode 5's faceset labeled "WayPhantom", there is a second one. Same with the charset, which has a matching sprite to the face. Who is this shadowy guy? I don't remember, but is it the guy who was trying to mess fight Scatha in the Pits, and who Rhue fights in a plunge?

Personally I agree that it could be gaius, he could have just been screwing with Rhues head or persuadeing him to give him his sword.
I hadnt thought of it being serena, would be a good plot twist.
I just hope all loose ends are tied up in episode 6.

I've actually thought it is Serena for a long time, but more evendence seems to narrow it down to either Rhue or Gaius. After all, if it was someone else than those two, then what motivation could Gaius have for telling Rhue that hes the phantom slasher?

I just finished re playing episode 5, and I think rhue isnt the ps, when he plunges with slade, his sword sticks in him and kind of grows into him, ps comes, pulls out the sword and returns it to Rhue.But that just raises more questions.....

Going by CHARSETS, it seems to be different alot of the time. EX, if you pay attention in the town of Lide (Act 2) the phantom slasher is Scatha. Then again, I opened The Way in RPG Maker 2000 and realized that ALOT of the characters have sillouhettes(i could never spell that word). Strata, Scatha, Rhue, Gaius, even Kloe have shadowed out charsets, right beside their normal ones. But usually, it's a guy with a really fat head. Not Rhue, maybe Gaius.

I have personally thought it was Gaius since act 2, when it clicked that the hair in the facesets was pretty much the same. Under closer inspection though, the hair for gaius has 2 spikes going down, and the PS only has one... I still think it's Gaius though... he's a jackrat.

Erm, yeah. Several people, including Scatha, Cetsa and Kygar (all in Lide) have had shadowy sprites. The PS wasn't even in Lide. That doesn't by any means make them the PS. o_O

Especially considering that charsets mean NOTHING in the story. Nothing at all
