Just for Impossible. Not the other ones.

Postby Glenn47 » Sun Aug 07, 2005 1:13 pm

I'm of course back from All-State choir. It was fun and all that. I just wanted to make a topic and tell you about a new Minnesota hero.

There was a guy who had moved to Minnesota only two years ago. Before that he lived in Australia. His name is Jesse, but everyone knows him now as Aussie (pronounced Ozzy).
At first everyone just thought he was cool, asking him questions just to hear his Aussie-voice. Then people played Frisbee with him, and he was all over the field, catching catches that could only be caught after years of hunting dingos, riding kangaroos, and doing other steriotypical Australia events. It was then that everyone realized that he kicked more ass than anybody else in Minnesota.

Aussie was a total ladies man. Literally, EVERYONE wanted him. Not JUST because he had an accent, but that helped. It was also because he was totally modest, and wanted to be liked for something other than his accent and looks. Pff, right.

A kid happened to hit a bat with the thin side of a clothes hanger, and Aussie grabbed it by the wing and carried it outside. He then went around it, squatting like the Croc Hunter, and said "This is one of the most venomous bats in the world." When he touched it again, it buzzed really cool-like, and Aussie stayed in character enough to jump back like the Croc Hunter.

At the dance, Aussie did like 9 crowd-surfs, got a chant going "Go Aussie! Go Aussie! Go Aussie!" danced with a hot chick (so did I, actually), and by the end of All-State he was the most kickass person on Earth. The end.

I just wanted Impossible to know that a modest Australian came to America and became the most liked person on Earth. Maybe this will teach him to be shy, and teach him that America is the land of opportunity for people who have accents.

I get bored while speaking and slur my words. Does that count?

Aha it is not us Australians that have the funny accents.
It is you that has the accent.

Woah I sound normal to myself and you sound wierd but you sound normal to yourself and i sound wierd. :?

The world is a very whack place.

Never say that "America is the land of opportunity for people who have accents" because everybody has an accent. :)
You should have said that "America is the land of opportunity for people who have a DIFFERENT accent".

Please ignore this post. I do not want to be insulted for this post's stupidity. Also War, please note that this is not spam it has a point.
But don't worry. I understand that if you can read as well as you can spell, that you have no chance of understanding.

I'd quote the above post by CJ, but it really doesn't deserve to be printed twice.

I have a mild american southern accent, which in addition to being completely and entirely unexotic, just screams out to anyone who lives anywhere else in the world, "Hi I'm southern!" It also pretty much screams out "Hi I'm a redneck, a fundamentalist christian, a republican, have frighteningly low standardized test scores, like to eat pig intestines, enjoy melting, and have confederate sympathies!" God I hate the south.

Like CJ said... the world is a wacked place...

I don't need an accent. I do recall that Aussies are originally British...Which means I need bad teeth and crumpets to be hot...plus a boomerang, and years of isolation among criminals. It can be done.

I feel sorry for people who think of Australia as a cesspit for British scum...
I mean, nowdays it's just not true.

I recall that Americans were originally British, too.

Which means I need bad teeth and crumpets to be hot...

That would be all well and good if we were British, which we're not. Many, many, many Australians born in the 20th century are of European or Asian descent. Even the ones who are British damn well aren't really after 10 generations.

plus a boomerang, and years of isolation among criminals.

Although in the late 18th century a criminal did not exactly fall under the same definition as a couple hunded years later. That, and America was ALSO populated by criminals as much as Australia was, and both by free settlers as well. Wow, you're even ignorant of your OWN history! Fantastic.

It can be done.

Yep! Cultural ignorance all around!

My great grandfather was an American, he came over here during WWII
with the US navy. My dad's side of the family ridiculed me because I pronounced words differently to them but it's not because of an accent, it's because I was taught to speak that way by my mum. My aussie accent kicks ass.
