If you wait like a year after it comes out, the price will drop signifcantly and because it's only after a year, you probably wouldn't miss anything.

well, your entitled to your opinion, no one is going to think any worse of you for it, but, Xbox 360 IS a generaly better console, PS3 is faster, but thats about it.
PS3 will be better for RPGs but Xbox360 will be better for FPS (Xbox always has)

so it is really up to your preferences in games, nothing else.

I would just like to point out that Morrowing was exponentially better on PC, so don't consider this a necessarily strong 360 title.

And for the record Iwata (CEO, Nintendo) said in an interview that Nintendo (The Revolution, specifically) is going in a different direction than its competitors. I really don't even consider it in the same league as the PS3 and 360 as far the term "console" applies.

So, wait, both of them will excel in a an often crap genre which is in the majority of cases (but not all for either of them) repetitive and tedious? Okay, fair enough. I respect your decisions.

Personally, I pick the system which excels in Platformers (Mario), Adventure games (Zelda), simulation games (Animal Crossing, and sans BtN, the best Harvest Moon games tend to be on Nintendo systems), Strategy games (Fire Emblem! Maybe Pikmin and ____ Wars, too), Fighting games (SSB... online... *drool*), racing games (between F-Zero and Mario Kart, you've got all the good subgenres of racing), and also GOOD RPGs (Paper Mario, hopefully another Tales, hopefully a Mana game, any other RPG with GAMEPLAY) and GOOD FPS' (Metroid Prime, the break from the constant mindless repetitive FPS tedium). Yeah, I actually look forward to systems for a variety of reasons, rather than touting a single example.

aww thats cute Impy. You ASSume that my wHOLE being is dedicated to being a microsoft whore....I care about the quality of my games...oh...did I fail to mention a minor detail...yeah....I did....I'm getting all 3 systems in swift sucession since I don't own a PS and well....I admire Nintendo occasionally...I just like MS's Xbox because if I get attacked in the streets, I know that with my Xbox, I beat em with it like a brick....That, and I can play Doom 3 and other games as opposed to my shitty old-ass Desktop Dell.

Oh yeah... sure... if I wanted to remake the gamecube control design exept 10 times better, I'd shove a ps2 control and an xbox control in a sack... jump up and down on them, throw them off a cliff... and then burn the sack so that it melted the crushed plastic and components together in an overly mangled way.

Um, there are so many things wrong with that line... wow. Wouldn't Sony's consoles be utter trash without their 1 or 2 good game titles like Final Fantasy and some racing games? Wouldn't the XBox be utter trash without Halo and 1 or 2 other good game titles? I mean, if you look at the big picture, every console has a select few very good games and a host of others that no one has ever heard of.

Nintendo's drive for something other than "omgwtf grafiks" may not have worked out that well so far (See Mario Sunshine and the Wind Waker, both are definitely not bad games, but are still subpar for their series history), but it's exactly what we need in the gaming industry. The XBox will continue to develop more and more realistic-looking FPSs, and the PS will probably continue to make more of the same. But if there's one thing that Nintendo is the leader in, it's attempts at something new. Nintendo's creative drive hasn't run out yet, and I expect them to be the next ones to release something revolutionary (no pun intended). At least they're trying, which can't really be said for the others.
