And you STILL can't designate the exact amount of experience needed for each level like you can with Stat points, even though that should've been a really obvious function. There's no excuse to stick with the "balancing" shit in the fourth version of PC RPG Maker.

I was debating whether or not to get RM XP. It no doubt has great advantages with graphics and database management, etc . . . but the appeal that RM2K games have for me is, quite frankly, the lack of snazzy graphics, and controller events that need some thought put into them to make them work successfully, and ultimately, the attention and the amount of dedication it takes to make one decently playable and fun. And that in this age of HD graphics and lightning fast game processes, people who care about plot and gameplay will still try and play them hoping to find a gem. And at the end of the day, they succeed or fail on story and on gameplay - and the fact that we are all here on this forum is testament to the fact that games in RM2K can work, and work beautifully. There will be game makers aplenty in the years to come, but RM2K - perhaps because it reminds me of the old days of NES and SNES RPGs - will hold a special place for me.

er... I doubt Lun is paying attention to any of that argument. Because no doubt it has already happened before and obviously he has chosen to stick with good old program instead of the new (secretly crap) program.

It's not as crap as you all say.
You can use the RGS scripts to change anything you like, so if you want to
specify the EXP per level, or you don't like how the battles or the menus work, change the scripts........That is IF you know how to.
You can even create the whole game using only scripts.

You can download heaps of scripts off the net. I got this cool script that lets you use a mouse, and let you use all of the keys on the keyboard.

Though it is dissapointing that you cannot add movies, but they made a basic movie player script for RMXP, but it only plays AVI files.
oh yeah by the way. Doovy & Co. are not gone. After all... I am Doovy and Forunner is still here.

It's still pretty stupid.
I can't make my own graphics for RMXP right...

Well that's not the program's fault. I think RMXP is a pretty good program, although over-rated. Other than the coding, the only major difference is graphics. It's even the same terrible battle system. I don't care if the graphics are better, it's still a crappy TBBS.

So if you have RPG Maker 2K, you can screw around with the programming of 'The Way'?

I think that is just Impy's angry way of saying "yes, you can". :)

But why the fuck would you want to? Unless you suck and you want to cheat and raise all of your stats.

Or look into different aspects of the way in order to derive better theories about future episodes. That's what a lot of people seem to do.

Yeah. Lots of people seem to do that, and it's annoying when I don;t know how... but since I do I can start contemplating the mysteries unavailable to me until now....

Or I could just wait for Ep6.
