Am I going crazy or did we already have a topic about this?

You must be from the south. Coke is a product, not a beverage group.

In Wisconsin where everything is right.

Soda is something you drink.
Pop is your dad.

This definitely came up in some other topic. Unfortunately I don't care enough about this to go look for it . . .

I call it softdrink, and so do many other people in the world.

So why wasn't softdrink added into the poll?

I say *STAB*, mainly because every one in the southern hemisphere calls it "soft drink", every one except for those who migrated from the northern hemisphere...

and New Zealanders dosn't count as people.

Being English, I refuse to use the word Soda. And occasionally use Pop. I generally just call it by it's name or say use Fizzy Drink.

..."Fizzy"...?

Soda is something you drink.
Pop is your dad.

I'll accept this, even if I don't use either. Pop, quite simply, is a retarded word.

Pop is gay. Why would you say 'pop'? If I tried to call soft drink 'pop', I can't see any situation where people would understand what I was saying... unless I was talking to a person retarded enough to call it 'pop' as well.

Soda just seems like one of those words that doesn't roll off your tongue. Soft drink just sounds right whereas I'd have to think about saying soda to make sure I say it properly. That and the fact that it's just lame.

And I've already given my reasons why softdrink is the way to go although, now that I think about it... even though softdrink is it's natural name it doesn't make much sense... I mean if you add fizz to water it is called soda water, not soft water.

... and I'm sure that if you take all of the fizziness out of a softdrink it won't get any harder....
