We suspect that Rhue's body may have belonged to someone else, correct? Let's say the original owner of Rhue's body could've been either Midian or Jeruh -- I'm not necessarily saying it has to be either of them, just that they seem likely candidates and it will make it easier to refer to the body by one or two names and the mind/soul by another.

This is supported by the fact that both Gaius and Scatha remarked that "Rhue" seemed different. I don't remember if they also said he was going by a different name now.

Gaius said that he and "Rhue" had killed someone. The head hunter called "Rhue" Midian. Let's say that Rhue's body belonged to Midian.

So where is Midian now? Here's my hypothesis: Midian is the Phantom Slasher. Or if not Midian, whoever Rhue's body belonged to.

That is why the PS has been following after Rhue, and protecting him at times -- he's trying to keep his own body safe from harm.

However, he still seems to be killing along the way -- hehe, unintended pun, I swear. Why? I don't know. It could be as simple as he's started to go crazy by being out of his body. It could also be something more complicated, perhaps even something related to Gaius' own actions. This is just some possibilities which need not be true for my main hypothesis to be true.

It's also possible that Rhue was the person that Gaius and Midian/Jeruh/Rhue's body killed.

As someone on another thread noted that Gaius said that the name Rhue reminded him of someone else, perhaps Rhue's original name was Jeruh. When Jeruh was killed by Gaius and Midian, and somehow later ended up displacing Midian out of his own body, his memory became distorted somehow and came up with the name Rhue, and perhaps the whole Serena story -- or not.

When wossname (man who made the wierd injection thing) was explaining how his super human potion worked he said the aura is a shadow of the soul of the wanderer. So mabye the PS is the incarnate of Rhue's soul but is still casting a shadow on rhue otherwise he wouldnt be able to use any of his powers. The soul of a wanderer could be twice as powerful as thier aura, that could explain why the PS is so powerful.

Mabye the people who gave Rhue his sword where Gaius and Scatha (not likely) that could be why they new him.

I know my second thery make no sense but its still possible.

I wouldn't take anything SotW says for granted. He's actually hinting and leading you on fwacho-style, but he's doing it so well that you can't tell. What he's saying is important - but we're not allowed to do any more than fwacho does, which is just to get you thinking along the right lines.

Hrm, I forgot about Midian in Dream Estrana. That might actually throw a kink in my idea. It might still be possible for Dream Estrana Midian to be Jeruh, since he was looking for Jed, Jeruh's father.

But then, who's Midian? The PS? Rhue? Rhue seems a bit less likely since the headhunter recognized Rhue as Midian and Rhue reacted, if I remember correctly, as if he wasn't.

That leaves us with three known bodies -- PS, Rhue, Dream Estrana Midian -- and two known souls -- Midian and Jeruh. Maybe there's another person to include here, another soul. Such as that Forerunner-like person that Dirk said had been killed. Which is interesting if you think about it, since beyond the place where the end of the way used to be turned out to be Rhue's Landorin Stretch. And I think Dirk mentioned that that guy was the only one who knew what was at the end of the way or something like that -- my memory is very fuzzy about this, but I do remember he said he knew something.

Another possibility is that it was Gaius and Jeruh that killed Midian. That would explain how Midian is the one in Dream Estrana. It might imply that Jeruh is the PS. I don't think I like this one though since it conflicts, quite badly, with the headhunter calling Rhue Midian, since Midian was supposedly searching after Jeruh.

I have always felt that the serum event was very important. At the very least it showed us that there was something special about Rhue's body/soul/something.
