Ehm, just stop please, don't let us become the forum where a topic about loves bursts into flames.

I'm not doing this to offend anyone or whatever... but seriously, this is a message board about computer games, and the only people on here are idiots, or people who have played the game. So maybe we're not all nerds but this forum is nerdy.

Love isn't overrated but true love is non-existant.

I beg to differ, it exists, if you're not a very foul and tainted person :P

anyways, I've fallen in love, never before have I fallen in love in a girl that loves me, but I think a girl does now, one crush lasted some years, she had a boyfriend, I wanted her, bad. But I didn't want her to be happy, and she was happy with her boyfriend, so I was happy for her, still thought about her a lot.

What is this "true love" you speak of anyway?

Love is nothing but a word, so is true love.
So it depends on how you view yourself, other people, the world in general, and of course love itself, because it all effects how you define that word.
Love is many things, some people think that lust is love, some people think that a simple crush is love, some people think that spending your entire life with somebody and having a love/hate relationship with them is love, and there is so much more.
If you accept that everybody has an opinion, and everybodys opinion matters then how can you define love? Everybody is unique and different, therefore everybodys perception of love is unique and different, no matter what they think their perception is. Which means that we can't define love, how can you say what love is when everybody perceives it differently. Some would say that if 2 people are in love with each other and their relationship fits both of their perceptions of love then is their relationship producing true love... maybe, I'm sure as hell not old or wise or experienced so I don't know.
If not then what is true love? Is it a higher state of thinking that only to people truely in love know about? Is it just an expression made up by a horney bastard who wanted to get a drunk chick in his pants? Or is it something we can't comprehend and never achieve?
I don't have the answer, I'm sure that no matter how many suggestions are put into this thread we won't find the answer, and It's more than likely that if you asked every single person on the planet then we still probably wouldn't get an answer because we wouldn;t be able to decide upon it.
So either true love is a perception of the mind, each individual having a different view, or it does not exist. You take your pick, either way that result is that for humans, true love is not possible or does not exist.
[/pointless ranting]

I would like to say that I've been taught in all my cristianity to believe that God is Love.

Anyways, it's true that you can't put a stamp on what love really is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love

Just look at that and you'll understand how wide a term it is.

I think true love can exist, but it can be tricky, or not. Say if two poeplelike eachotehr, they want to spend their entirer lives with eachother, they'd die to save the other, baiscally they feel the same way about eachother, that would be a very true love.

I'm there right now and it sucks ass, because they are both my friends and they like to "show off" that they are dating. And it sucks ass. It makes me want to kill things, mainly him, but that would put me in jail and make her hate me so you know...
