I keep hearing people say maybe Serena didn't exist. Did you people forget that Scatha mentioned to Dancing Violet that she had met the girl Rhue was chasing? I mean Scatha doesn't seem like the kind of person to lie just to be spiteful, and Rhue never asked her. I dunno if other people have examined it, but it sticks out for me.
Maybe Serena is really Scatha's youngest sister who disappeared for unknown reasons? It is very possible. She was associating with a boy (Rhue), so something bad happened to her, Scatha (Chasta was her name right?) was associating with a boy, and she was thrown into the pits after having her face burned. Seems too convenient for me....

Scatha could have just said it to Cetsa to see her reaction. Possibly: By pretending that she knew Serena, she made Cetsa own up to Rhue

In my opinion Rhue will probably die in Episode 6, thats why it'll be "the end of his journey in his quest to find Serena" and possibly the Way series might continue on focusing on another main character (Scatha? Nah...) and depending on how much is revealed in this episode and whether Rhue finds Serena or not, the new main character might continue on in a bid to find Serena to honour Rhue.

What? Can't be because Cetsa threw her into a river and then Traziun saved her, while he was a blood lyn. You think about it.
Rhue doesn't end his journey. It said, "the end of of journey." End of the journey, not some mysterious line saying "Will Rhue survive..."
