I, personally, think that this is also a three ending story; either:

Lun joins a professional game studio,

Lun founds a professional game studio,

or the really crappy ending,

Lun just keeps making little RM2K games and never gets anywhere. Then again, it might be just a matter of opinion that this ending sucks, but I really want to see a game by Crestfallen Studios at Gamestop or EBGames.

For instcance he could create a series leading up
to the ones he has just made and then he could make

Seriously, seeing the crap RPGS that companies have been pulling out of their asses nowadays, it really isn't just crazy wishful thinking that The Way can become a commercialized game somewhere in the future. The Way easily defeats these other crappy games out right now. The only challenge is knowing the right people.

I am not sure if The Way will sell too well, It is too good. Players nowdays dislike thinking much, And think all the crap RPGs companies are makeing right now are awesome. The Way isn't for everyone, A fool will see a basic story, Most of us see far more.

But I do hope Lun gets a job in a game company or starts working as a writer... I'll surely buy anything he will release.

The Way is the most brilliant game I have ever played. And there lays its curse, Its ahead of its time, Today most gamers want simple clich'e games.

And, Even if this community was formed around a game at first, It is far more now, The core will never fall apart, No matter what they say, They care of each other.

I believe both Lun and the community have a long way to go before one of them will collapse.

I didnt mean a pro version of The Way, I ment a new game entirely. A game with an engine coded in C++, possibly a 3D game, with an entirely new plot seperate from what we have here. Heck, I'd work for him, even without any guarenteed pay other than possible royalties. Because anyting Lun makes is damn sexy.

As a forum, I see this going in 2 directions:

We'll desperately keep it alive with our forum posts of nonsensical sorts and basically stew in this big pot....yes, I am using a pot analogy. We'll sit there and collect until either some big fucking flame war breaks the tensions or lun releases another item sent from heavens, perhaps another Way game.


Now, we could also let it die out by slowly leaving, but I doubt that'll really happen....

I suggest you all get CS 1.6 and we form a clan. Or maybe we could do a guild wars or Diablo II clan, but D2 isn't as important...

Don’t forget the ending where he joins a small game studio and only gets a slight recognition increase in the cult-following sector (best ending? maybe for us, but not for Lun's bank account), or the ULTRA-MEGA-HYPER-CRAPPY ending where he joins someone like THQ.

Due to the myriad of copyrights on the graphics and music found in the game, it wouldn’t be easy to pay the royalties in order to have a non-butchered version of the original design unless SquareEnix merged with Capcom and Konami and bought out the people who made the RPGMaker engine (Enterbrain? I can’t remember) and then purchased the rights to every song on the planet.
