RHUE Origninally had a Shadow Sword, back when (And if) he was Kura. He would never age, absorb souls, and such. Likewise when he killed Midian, he grabs his aura, and Midian takes some form of control. BUT. Jeruh had an Illuminti. And when the two swords clashed in that flash of light, they merged, creating a blade that had aspects of BOTH swords, explaining the problems with earlier posts, and why Jeruh's sword disappears. RHUE would still be ageless, but still has many of the side effects of that Shadow Sword, maybe it made a sword that wanted justice, but wanted to kill, so it judged people too highly, and killed all offenders. The only thing safe were children because they didn't have the capacity for evil. When Rhue slept, the sword created it's own Avatar, the Phantom Slasher, to do it's will. It's got holes, I'll admit. But it's an interesting theroy.

The main flaw with this is that Jeruh's sword doesn't behave as you'd expect an illuminati should. Jeruh feeling a strong desire to kill the other children would lead you to believe that it was a Shadow Sword.

Despite that, I can still see that theory working if Rhue had the Illuminati (as some others have suggested), and Jeruh had the Shadow Sword.

And it is possible that Rhue's original identity was Kura... And the Harbringer is supposedly good.

THought spree:

First came the illuminati, they were used in a fight with the lord below, the illuminati were lost, but maybe they weren't really lost, but instead made into shadow swords by infusing them with a malign aura.

Here's an interesting thought for you: What if a shadow sword keeps its auras even after it changes owners? This would mean that the sword Rhue posesses really was once Kura's sword. Midian found this sword, and used it to hunt down and kill Jeruh...

That could be true, but considering Gaius told the truth, which is likely, the midian part is not possible.

Could be, but Rhue's been pretty eager to always have his sword near him, and when he hasn't had it the PS has come and helped him.

brigas wrote:Hmm I just realized something... if Rhue was once Kura, Kura is roaming dream estrana too, as rhue was once midian and midian still hangs around.
Of course, the fact that we dont see him cant be used to assume that he's not there, but if he's not there we can assume rhue wasnt Kura.
However, if rhue wasnt kura, we cant explain kava's existance in dream estrana, because we know the one who killed him was kura, not rhue.

Concerning the swords, nice theory, i might want to add up that it wasnt able to hurt the harbringer either... Is the harbringer suposed to be evil or good?

Well, we can't be sure, that Rhue was once Midian. Besides. Rhue is SUPPOSED to be Jeruh right now, but Jeruh is there as well. So the real question is, since it makes sense to say then (unless Jeruh, Lyrra and Midian were wrong or lying) that Rhue (the one we play as) is a person, who was only INFLUENCED by Jeruh's desires. So who is Rhue? It seems like, that we get that question when we complete with a normal ending. But once we started to analyze the game, the question became a lot bigger and far more important.

Aegis: But the question is, is the sword, that was used to kill Jeruh, a shadow sword and if so, what happened to the Jeruh's?

Taking in account that Rhue's shadow sword probably has an assload of auras and the original one is now just one among several dominant auras. Then our Rhue is the product of several shattered personalities.

Well that could make him what the PS calls an "anomaly" I suppose.

On the sword issue, didn't that man in red say something about the illuminati being changed? This could explain rhue's sword.

Thats exactly what I was going to say. It seems to me that when the lord below "unleashed a shockwave that decimated the auras of all living things for miles and miles around." during the fight with the illuminati, those swords were corrupted, and thats what the shadow swords are.

Why do you think it has both sides?

Rhue fought both Actura and the Phantom Slasher, they were the last lines of defense before Rhue leaned the truth. Actura is an illuminati, Phantom Slasher is a shadow sword. If the corruption theory is right, then a shadow sword is both by definition, and its obvious that Rhue's sword does have both from what I said above. As for where the last remaining illuminati is, i dunno. Maby its buried in some sacred cave, maby Gaius has it.

What swords do we know of? Night Reaper, Ghost Horror and Aubuta (Kalmar says Aubuta when he clashes with Rhue in the Blana Sera temple) , right? That leaves one. Then, does anybody know Illuminati names? I'm pretty sure all names were mentioned in Ep. 4 or 5?

And the reason Traziun lets Rhue live in Lexus ending: Kalmar says that he has become one with Traziun when he is killed, or being killed. So did Kalmar take over in the Lexus ending, because Rhue could be his perfect blade?

And does Traziun have two shadow swords, Nigth Reaper and Ghost Horror, since he killed Kalmar? So Rhue has Aubuta. And if Rhue had that when he killed Jeruh, then I suppose Gaius COULD have the final one. But then again, I still think Rhue didn't have it, and Jeruh's sword was Aubuta, so one is still missing.

I think it's a little sad we're ignoring the who Dirk/Scatha/Tetsel thing, but sadly, I doubt we know enough to make any conclusions. If Tetsel invented the way, how could he make all people in the world believe it? He would HAVE to be immortal or possibly carry a shadow sword.
---
When Gaius takes Rhue to the final scene in Ep.5, he was probably expecting Rhue to remember something else, since he says something like "Interesting", which would mean he is kind of surprised.

ok, Fwacho may have said Aubuta was important, but I think just assuming its Rhue's sword is just alittle to much. The shadow swords we know of are Night Reaper, Ghost Horror, and Phantom Slasher. Now dont you think Rhue's sword might just be that last one?

And the reason Traziun lets Rhue live in Lexus ending

Traziun lets Rhue live in every ending, he was never trying to kill Rhue.

And does Traziun have two shadow swords, Nigth Reaper and Ghost Horror, since he killed Kalmar?

Ghost Horror flew away, and Lyrra got it. Some people think it was ment to go to Slade, but he never picked it up.

I think Tetzel is just in a powerful posistion, being the leader of the guided and all, and doesnt want to lose that. He knows the truth about the way, which most likely goes angenst the teachings of the guided, and if people learned that they were wrong, Tetzel would out of power.

When Gaius takes Rhue to the final scene in Ep.5, he was probably expecting Rhue to remember something else, since he says something like "Interesting", which would mean he is kind of surprised.

Probably said that due to the fact that Rhue said it was the Landorin stretch, but it wasnt.

I don't know who Fwacho is. Why would Kalmar say Aubuta, if it wasn't the Shadow Sword? And how do you know Phantom Slasher is a shadow sword? Where are all the names mentioned?

Let me rephrase myself, since I misspoke: The reason Traziun prevents Gaius from Killing Rhue and the reason why Traziun kills himself.

Ghost Horror flew away, and Lyrra got it. Some people think it was ment to go to Slade, but he never picked it up.

Oh, it flew away? Didn't remember that, but it has been a long time. So, what happens to that Shadow Sword AFTER that? Did Strata take it?

Probably said that due to the fact that Rhue said it was the Landorin stretch, but it wasnt.

Eh, yea? Rhue says, "This is the Landorin Stretch". But Gaius knows it's not, so he is expecting Rhue to think something else, so he is surprised.

I still thing Aubuta was a phrase like "good battle", something that Blood Lyn say after a battle, or something like that.

EDIT: I've also been thinking lately...

Rhue = Perfect Blade (look at the run-in with the PS in the Kloe ending.
Gaius = Eyashu (since he DID find out the truth about the end of the way, and Tetzel would certainly want him dead.)

Well, I agree that Aubuta doesn't have to be a sword name, but one of you guys said Actura is a Illuminati name. So why does Shadow Swords have to have uninspired names?
