I'm part of that select group of people who prefered Futurama over The Simpsons, what's the general view on the board?

I prefer Futurama. I did always love Simpsons as well, but recently Simpsons has become absolute crap.

The freaking celebs are more interesting than the show now. At least it's better than Family Guy and American Dad, worst shows on TV.

Futurama is definitely (or should I say, definatly) better than the Simpsons. However, I think Futurama is just a few I.Q points too high to gain enough fan support in the United States though. We prefer bald, stupid, fat people.

Matt Groening's "Life in Hell" comics still own both of the T.V series. Those comics are genius.

Oh you bastard.

American Dad IS terrible, but Family Guy has some of the funniest moments in history.

The only thing that makes American Dad remotely watchable is the effeminate alien and the German skier fish. And neither one of those is that good. So the show basically sucks.

I own seasons 1 and 2 of Family Guy on DVD, my girlfiend has season 3. Either you're sitting there blankly or laughing your ass off. Pretty hit or miss, but definitely good.

I liked the few episodes of Futurama I saw. Definitely a bit edgier and funnier than the Simpsons, and Bender is just hilarious.

But you still gotta give almighty props to the Simpsons. Without the success of that show, none of the rest of would exist. Sure, it's repetitive now - after this many years it has to be - but in its prime it's fucking great.

And I had to laugh when in a recent episode of the Simpsons, somebody opens up a dictionary to the word "Plagiarism" and there's a picture of Family Guy's Peter Griffin. Right below that is a definition of "Plagiarism of Plagiarism" with a picture of American Dad. :D

I like Futurama and Family Guy, Simpsons has been around for so long that nowdays no matter what they do it seems repetitive, quite frankly I'm sick of it.
But watching shows like Simpsons and Futurama doesn't appreal to me as much as it used too. If I have nothing to do I'll watch just to kill time, but there are plenty of better things to do.
