Anyone <adjective meaning worse than even the geekiest nerd> enough to actually try to have a funeral or memorial service in a game, derserves that to happen to them.
Hell, If I played WoW I would have been there, and not for the funeral :-D

Eh. A frickin online funeral? Not likely to work out. What they should have done was have a quiet little gettogether on MSN or some other IM service and pay their respects like that. Anyone who holds a public funeral on an MMORPG is just asking to get pwn'd.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have attacked the funeral (unless they were crowding a high-traffic area). Anyone who attacks an ingame event with people who hadn't done anything to impede anyone else is just asking to be flamed as a "heartless asshole". Of course, I wouldn't have defended the funeral, either...

Only people who deserve to stay here stay for long. Generally.

And I understand why they'd hold a funeral. It was a friend of theirs that they knew through the game. It was probably easiest to get it together there. I also understand why they'd attack the funeral. They probably didn't think of it as such a big deal.

Then, everyone takes it too seriously. If I was one of the people at the funeral, I'd accept it. Sure, maybe attacking was an asshole thing to do, but the things the people said afterwards were so incredibly asinine. I didn't watch much of it after the big text disappeared, but the one kid that hoped the attacker's dad would have a heart attack... That's such bullshit. They crashed a GAME FUNERAL. If it was a real funeral, then I would advocate a beat-down.
