"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)

Somebody was like "finally, no more of that annoying accent!".

How do I break this to them?

His heart was pierced by a stingray barb. That's gotta hurt.
From what my barber told me, I now knew that nothing was real.

He so should have had his head bitten off by a crocodile.

I found out about this today. I couldn't actually believe he was actually dead. My friend told but I didn't believe it until I saw it on the news. I think all the world's wildife finally had enough of him and hatched an elaborate assassination plan. All that is left is that South African Snake Hunter and that dude of maginficent creatures.
In this day and age, an era where there are people who actually throw shit at each other, anything, could be possible.

Maybe it's David Attenborough eliminating any competition.

Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest"

Oh, the irony.

The camera man and steve had apparently boxxed the creature in unknowingly, which caused it to react and raise the spike which killed Steve. Tsk.

Because if he was Canadian, he would have used his pseudo-bacon to lure the stingray away from him? Or would he have cussed the stingray out in French?

If he was German he could have done a holocaust on stingrays a long time ago.

If he were Texan he would have been there to shoot the stingray.

If he were Strayed, he would have stabbed him.

Any other incredible observations?

Well, it's seeming to be a big deal down here, it's taking up the first 3 pages of eveyr newspaper and everything. And people won't shut up about it, I swear the next time someone starts a conversation with "So have you heard Steve Irwin is dead" I'm going to hit them.

Everyone bitched about his annoying accent, cruddy commercials and good guy attitude, but now that he is gone people realise how much of a good guy he was. And seriously he was a great guy, he loved nature and he loved his family, and he kept barely any of the money he made, it all went to buying forests and funding animal hospitals and reserves.

It's kind of unrealistic and all I guess... I always imaging him dying from man-made causes like a car crash or something, after all these years he seemed invincible to nature... but yeah it would have been quite humorous and ironic if he had been killed by a crocodile.

I don't think it's a big deal, hundreds of people die each day. But it does leave me very sensitive to the gaping hole where my patriotism should be.
