i really dont know alot of touch screen monitors... i dont know how they differ from normal monitors aside from the touchy thing.

please try to answer both...

1. What touch screen monitors are compatible with Dell Dimension 3000?
2. Is Planar PT1500MU 15" Touch Screen LCD compatible with Dell Dimension 3000?

Warning, I have no solid experience with touchscreen technology, so any generalizations I make are based off of what I know about general hardware and the wiki article on touch screens.

So yeah, here's my guess. Touch Screens will most likely require some sort of software to help the system recognise that you're not using standard PS/2 or USB 2.0 devices to send your input to the computer (aka, not using a keyboard or a mouse). When I mentioned alternative methods of input, this product I've seen came to mind

http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/8193/

It requires you put software onto your computer if you're going to use it. That's...iono, pseudo touch-screen technology....

In short, you'll most likely get software with the touch screen, and I have no clue what a Dimension 3000 runs with, so you'd most likely have to state hardware and software specs.

Well, this isn't so much a general hardware question as asking for help for an Info Tech assignment, because you guys are computer literate right?

Your task is to analyse the two advertisements below and make a recommendation to the Purchasing Officer of InMedia (a non IT person) who is looking at purchasing a new system for a new employee (I Earnalot). This employee is a graphic artist, working on a network, whose job consists of photo editing, 2D and 3D animation and some basic video editing, Which of the two systems would you recommend. When working, I Earnalot will be using a wide variety of different file types – these can be received from people in a wide and varied manner such as disk, CD, emailed, off cameras (still and digital) etc.

The main software used by this employee is:

 Adobe Photoshop CS
 Macromedia Flash MX 2004 (intending to upgrade to 8)
 Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 (intending to upgrade to 8)
 Adobe Premier Pro
 Adobe Audition
 Office XP

Your answer should be in a memo format and you should justify your selection using your knowledge of the components of a computer system. Ensure you respond to the requirements of software and any other issues identified. Are there any additional components you would add to the base system to ensure its’ suitability? Your choice is between these two base systems (which you can further enhance if you require, as long as you can justify it). You are not required to give prices.
