No, I'm talking about 'my' kind of logic.

I believe it's entirely unnecessary to list all the forms of bad logic present on these forums, it's essentially pointing out which fish have gills.

->read the first page and jumped in inappropriately :D

->Love Weird Al

->Typing in bullet points cause i've just done a ppt presentation on 'the tempest'

->please forgive me

anyhow it cycles but my current favourite weird al song is amish paradise, probably just because it sounds so good: http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~dh291101/Weird%20Al%20Yankovic%20-%20Amish%20Paradise.mp3
"Mum, Grandad says he cant get his bottom set of false teeth out."

"Don, are you all right?"

"I can't get my teeth out"

"that's cause they're real"

Grandad's mind gave up on boxing day, to late to get him new one for Christmas, he'll have to wait till his birthday now.

What makes that song even funnier is how pissed Coolio, the guy who did the original, got cuz his song was supposed to be serious and above parody. Several years later, Weird Al is still at it and Coolio is a musical footnote.

Yeah, it's great how this is Weird Al's most successful album yet. Just when you thought he was fading he comes back. Hard to believe he's been doing it since the early 80s.

The great thing is Chamillionaire (the author of Ridin') apparently loved it.

Years ago, Coolio really got peeved when "Weird Al" Yankovic made a parody of his "Gangsta's Paradise" with "Amish Paradise." Chamillionaire apparently has a better sense of humor. He thinks it's quite funny that Al flipped "Ridin" into "White and Nerdy."

"He's actually rapping pretty good on it, it's crazy," Cham said last week. "I guess [Al's camp] reached out to my management and asked if they could do it. He's Grammy-nominated, man. He goes platinum. It's really an honor when he does that. I remember when he redid Michael Jackson's 'Bad' ['Fat']. Weird Al is not gonna do a parody of your song if you're not doing it big. You gotta be a big dog. He shot the video, and people will see it pretty soon. It's crazy.

"He's spittin' just like Krayzie Bone on the second verse," Cham added. "It's actually very funny if you listen to what he's saying. The way Krayzie is harmonizing, he does the same thing. It surprised me. I didn't know he could rap like that"

The actual context of the Dark Ages article wrote:It is generally accepted that the term was invented by Petrarch in the 1330s. Writing of those who had come before him, he said that "amidst the errors there shone forth men of genius, no less keen were their eyes, although they were surrounded by darkness and dense gloom"[1]. Christian writers had traditional metaphors of "light versus darkness" to describe "good versus evil." Petrarch was the first to co-opt the metaphor and give it secular meaning by reversing its application. Classical Antiquity, so long considered the "dark age" for its lack of Christianity, was now seen by Petrarch as the age of "light" because of its cultural achievements, while Petrarch's time, lacking such cultural achievements, was now seen as the age of darkness.

No, Jera, no, this topic is just going to degenerate into a topic about the Dark Ages and random shit like that. Anywho, to have been more accurate he could have said the Middle Ages, becuase Christianity didn't get that much world-wide acceptance until the end of the Dark Ages.
