Seventh Saga and Baldur's Gate killed easy games for me, I no longer take pleasure from normal gaming, only sadistically fatal games that appeal to my reload fetish and justify the fact I save once a minute.
(Walk, walk, walk, DEATHTRAPROCKSFALLEVERYONEDIENOSAVEHAHARELOAD )
So yes, the fact I cannot enjoy most modern releases should indicate that games are indeed getting far too easy, the hardcore gamer is going to become extinct soon enough, the average modern gamer uses strategy guides, plays in godmode, and calls having to reload often "bad design"- unforgivable sins in the golden days of yore.
So unless we can destroy all consoles and purge Windows from existence, thus once again limiting gamers to the more computer savvy, and thus, educated people, games will keep getting easier and easier as the market expands and our kin shall fade from the world- and slowly, games will turn to interactive movies.
