Its the main menu song in the GBA Mario Tennis.(Or maby all of them for all I know, i just have the gba one.)

here's something from quite possibly the easiest composer in video games to recognise without knowing the exact song

Its scary how true that is. I always had trouble with the Mario golf and tennis games since the music reminded me of Golden Sun I'd always start reminicing about the game. Had the same problem with Tales of Symphonia, though not to the same extent.

Derr, boo hoo. If I'm not in class, chances are I'm in a lab studying for a high-level college math class (and that's actually why I've missed the draw on every one that I've known but didn't respond in time). No fair, he has more time than I do! THAT'S CHEATING!! And for the record, I was checking vgmusic.com, not my own personal collection, which brings up the whole point that having a personal collection doesn't give me any sort of advantage at all. 99% of the music I have in my collection comes from there anyway. And if it's in my collection, I obviously like it enough to recognize it to begin with. The only possible advantage I have is the volume of games I've played, which tapers off as the generations advanced. For example, I could recognize the GBC Mario Tennis music in my sleep, but I didn't opt for the GBA version.

It's emotional conversations like this that make me miss my mum (that's English English for 'mom').

Um, sure, but none of that changes the fact that looking over music for every game you think it could be is cheating. Having a personal collection may not give you an unfair advantage, but looking through MIDIs certainly does. You don't have some inherent right to, say, look through the MIDIs for Mario Tennis on the GBA just because you only own the GBC game.

Mario Tennis: Power Tour is a great game, by the way. And Motoi Sakuraba is awesome. The fact that it sounded like something out of Golden Sun pretty much immediately narrowed down what it could be.

I've devised a new rule that will make this less about me trying to defeat Jeramyu indirectly by hoping other people will get here first, and more about someone actually needing to get the song. From now on and retroactively, I have the right to take the points myself from any song that nobody has gotten after a week. That way, there's actually some motivation to get a song nobody else can, and some satisfaction for me other than mocking you all for not having played Ikaruga or something.

So I get points for Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Ikaruga, and, get this, Sonic Adventure. I can't believe nobody got a song from Sonic Adventure - the second part of the Perfect Chaos battle.

In case nobody noticed, I haven't been using MP3s even though I mentioned that I could, just because it's too time-consuming for me when all the songs are already there as MIDIs. >_> It takes too long to find and upload MP3s if I don't already have them.

Suck on That, bitches

This next one should be easy for anyone who has played the game - even if not for many years. It's the kind of thing that haunts you.

It doesn't give me an unfair advantage because every one else can do the exact same. If I have a better clue to what a song might be, it's through my own earned affluence with game music. And for the record, every song that I've gotten so far I've known off the top of my head anyway. The only thing I've looked up in regards to those is OST titles, because in the instance of the seven force music, that's actually used for two boss battles (the runner bit of the core battle, IIRC), so I wasn't sure if it actually had a more general name, even though it's mainly associated with only one boss.

I'm pretty sure I do, and it's called free will. Or more specifically, it's the motor skills to move a mouse, literacy with the English language to read the text on the screen, and basic short term memory and sound wave pattern recognition to compare two songs. I'm pretty sure I have the inherent right to use my inherent basic abilities as a human being however the fuck I want.

Oh, and I'm in a computer lab without so much as the ability to play midis for the next 6 hours, nobody is allowed to guess at this time, it's unfair! Nobody has the right to guess while I can't (despite class schedules being an inherent part of our lives)!

I hate that song, it gave such an anticlimatic feel to the battle, part one had such great music, then part two was generic disaster music.

EDIT: Yay, one of my friends actually knows one of these for once.
Its the Chapter 1 music from Bubsy The Bobcat.

To sum up Jera's post: "Cheating isn't unfair as long as everyone can do it!" If I say it's against the rules, it's against the rules. And if everyone is choosing to play by the rules but you, then you have the advantage. I'm not accusing you of having gotten points via cheating, I'm warning you not to do it. You can exercise free will all you want, but I'm not forced to acknowledge it if you break the damn rules while doing so. So no, you don't have the inherent right to try to cheat at someone else's game just because you can do it. Many athletes can get away with taking drugs, that doesn't give them the right to do so.

Let me just put this simply. I, the person running this trivia, have said that you're not allowed to do something in this trivia. It should be as simple as that. It's not for you to decide what is and isn't okay.

Sage got it.

Its from Luigi's Mansion. I think its the song that plays in areas you've already beaten or somthing like that.

Hm, now I have to find a way to beat Sage, too. I'll give you the last one; it's the stage clear music.

That sounds like the first few lines of the song when you go to Nibelheim in FF7, only with different instruments, note values and repeated over again.

I'm surprised I recognised the other song considering I've never actually played Luigi's mansion, I've only ever seen someone else play it... once.
