Can anyone help me advance in The Way 2?

Postby dgfurman » Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:59 am

Hi! I've just started playing this series, and am really enjoying it, but now I'm getting frustrated b/c I can't advance.

I'm stuck in the cave with those fast moving blob things that I just can't get by without that bird monster knocking me off. I've managed to get as far as the 3rd blob, and get the chest, the switch, only to be killed again. My save is after that point, so at least I got my bonuses, but I can't seem to get beyond these blobs! I keep getting killed. I'm so bad at these "run fast NOW" type of things.

Can anyone help me get around them??? Thanks!

I'm not great at getting past them by any means, but I do have a method that works for me.

Always stand on the same side. I like to stand on the right. Stand just below the blob, and rest your finger above the up key. Watch the blob go back and forth.

Just after the blob starts moving to the right, hold up. The spot is going to depend on your reaction time. Mines' actually pretty bad, so you may want the blob half way to the right before you start. But the key is to forget about Rhue. Figure out the spot that works for you, and then concentrate only on hitting the key when the blob gets there.

Actually, what I did was walk very slowly through the cave. When you trigger the Barrucha attack, immediately backtrack a tile or two, and it should just miss you. In this case, it was more helpful for me NOT to rush through it.

Thanks for the suggestions. So far, I've just tried what worked for WonderLlama, which I haven't been doing well on yet. But I will try the next strategy too from Wellsy and see how it goes. This series is great, but boy, there are some frustrations, to be sure!

You could just edit the Barrucha out if it bothers you that much . . .

Thanks for all the tips. I am hopeless. But.......my husband managed to get by them on his 3rd try. So how about that?! Needless to say, I've now moved on to Episode 3, thank goodness.

Glad you (or your husband, rather) got through that one. Don't worry, there are more maddening puzzles to come.

Heh, if you had trouble with that your going to hate the 'Cave of Instant Death', or whatever its called, in EP6.

Barrucha Cave was a cakewalk compared to most of EP6.
